GOAT SKILLS (comedy version): FLOPPING

Post#1 » by penbeast0 » Sun Jan 21, 2024 9:13 pm

Who is the greatest at drawing undeserved whistles of all time?

A few names to start:
Vlade Divac, the original Euroflopper
Reggie Miller and the leg kick
James Harden for pure brutal volume

Nobody in NBA history "beats" Dennis Rodman when it comes to being a flopper.

Moses Malone is the greatest flopper ever, because nobody accused him of flopping but he did it every game :D

Laimbeer was nearly as bad. That was a very very easy team to hate.

Rodman seemed to take great glee in embellishing it moreso than some other well known floppers. See his reaction to a offensive foul they called on Magic. I don't know how much of a flopper Laimbeer was during his stint in Cleveland before Detroit but I do know that Rodman continued it after he left the Pistons. I think it peaked as a Bulls player.

He gets a lot of credit for his defense vs Shaq as a Bulls player, but I think subconsciously there was probably a part in Shaqs mind that was worried his usual backing opponents down would get him repeatedly whistled for an offensive foul.

Embiid is exhibiting all time peak currently and has GOAT potential.

Embiid is my least favorite, as his size often puts other guys in danger.

Laimbeer combined being a vicious cheapshot artist, a physical coward and a flopper. Probably the easiest player to hate in NBA history for on-court behavior only.

Dishonorable mentions: Didn’t Lance Stevenson slap himself, fall, and somehow draw a foul? It’s on a few YouTube vids. Chris Bosh also had underrated flopping skills.

I think Ginobili needs to get credit for the awesome “helicopter” flop.

Honestly think Embiid takes this.

His flopping is a disgrace to the sport.

Marcus Smart and Kyle Lowry. They are top 2. The GOAT standard to compare to. Smart has the best flop of all time

There really needs to be some technicals, flagrants or fines for players flopping to the floor in traffic again and again. It’s way more dangerous than closing out under a guy’s foot. Embiid effectively ended Danny Green’s career by flopping into the side of his knee.

I think you are focusing too much on charge flops.

Marcus Smart looks like he accidently hurts himself on his flops.

Nope I think their Peak is unmatched. It’s a work of art how they do it.

So much for “watching him intently”.
