We are gonna be pretty bad for a while and it hasn't sunk in yet for many fans
Yes we have 'talented young players' but that will take another 2-3 season to be back near where we were to consider make any moves to elevate.
OG is in a better place and the Knicks will try to improve to better compete whereas Masai and Co. choose to do otherwise, for better or worse?
I disagree with this direction but it sure beats the stagnation we were left in for the past 3 seasons.
One thing is that there has been noise for a couple of years that OG wants an increased offensive role. I'm not seeing that in New York. The most shots he's had at NY is 15 with the rest of the games at 12 or less. Whether he comes back home might be remote, but he might not stay in NY.
Only way he gets an increased role offensively is on a very bad team. I think more then anything he wanted his value up for his new contract and his impact on the D end in NY may be enough.
But if he isn't going to get a bigger role, and he actually misses Toronto, he might as well have that reduced role here. Is NY going to give him everything his bird rights make possible? If I were OG, and I didn't get an increased offensive role, I'd tell them to forget any discount. Pay me the bag or I'm going home.
