I'd say no chance they give up KCP. He is crucial for them. They'd be filling one hole while creating another. DEN would have to trade 5 guys just to meet the salary requirements if they excluded KCP.

Looks like an impossible deal to make, just based on contracts alone. If you exclude all of their starters, they only have Jackson $5M, Nanji $4M, and Braun at $3M. Every other contract is $2M. They would need to deal so many off their roster just to get close to Brown's $22M.

It is impossible. They just don't have the contracts and would never move any of their starting 5 unless they were getting a clear upgrade, which Brown is not.

What are you disagreeing with? Grimes is worse than Brown and may never reach his level of elite role player? One more year of cheap contract to do what? If he works out he's getting paid. If he doesn't, he's being let go. Same stakes as Brown, essentially, although if Brown doesn't work out this year he's probably still retaining trade value.

The pick switch is so baffling to me. Teams will literally trade out of their slot for a future first down the road. This proposal takes the "benefit of Brown" for the exact same kind of trade. Yes, it's stupid to take all three picks this year, but Brown needs to bring back a first on his own for this to be worth it.

I laid it out for you the reasons why on both Grimes and the pick. Grimes had a solid second year last season. On the pick, I agreed ideally you would get another pick and keep what they already had. Just to add to the idea of a pick swap though, swapping the worst of the 2024 for a 2025 would allow you to trade up to 4 draft picks in the next 3 drafts if a star player came along: 1 in 24, 2 in 25, and 1 in 26, while allowing you to keep your 2026 pick. With the potential cap space, you might not even have to trade out a player. Hopefully they would make any Raptor pick lottery protected.

I don’t understand why you need to use the term “Stupid” to express your disagreement over a proposal. We are brainstorming here and I found it was an out of the box idea to swap the pick.

For the record I put that same proposal in the NYK board. No surprise. They found the swap pick trash as well. For them the 2025 MIL 1st is significantly more valuable than the OKC 1st 2024.

Anyhow, both fan base don’t like it

Let’s move on to another idea.

When both fanbases hate the deal, it might be closer to real value.

Siakam trade is a prime example. Pacers fans didn’t want to give up anything other than expirings. Raptors wanted their young players. Ended up being 3 picks…no one happy! lol

This is why people needed to cool it with the Pascal trade. It wasn’t finished. Whatever we get back from Bruce Brown plus the three first round picks is pretty good.

Also if Dennis gets traded you could consider that the haul for FVV (he only signed here because FVV was gone)......the overall haul for FVV, OG, Siakam wouldn't end up being as bad as some people make it out to be.
