If we’re taking on Duncan Robinson with 2 more years remaining on his contract we better be getting the 2027 FRP too

I think his deal ends after next year, I would push for a FRP but Miami might say Brown’s deal ends at the same time anyways.

Brown seems like a Miami type of player, and they desperately need an injection of life with that roster if they’re serious.

I am sure some Heat fans would say Duncan Robinson has been better than Herro this year, esp with efficiency

Duncan Robinson has been very good this year so MIA probably doesn't see him as a negative anymore. He's playing almost 30 mins for them and he has shooting splits of 46/41/87.

We need that kind of shooting but their team success has kind of plateaued this season imo esp with the Pacers adding Siakam

he makes $19.4 next year and $19.8 the following year but that has a $9.8 mil early termination option

I don’t know why we would want KCP unless we flip him for assets like we are trying to do with Bruce Brown.

I would eat it, he would be perfect for Dick to learn from.
A

Also Jovic would be a nice young addition. SF/PF who can shoot

I would rather trade Trent, Boucher and 2nd pick for Jovic and Lowry and 1st pick. I would also trade Trent, Otto, Thaddeus and 2nd pick for Jovic Lowry and 1st pick, if they wanted more flexibility. Maybe they re-sign Trent and retain Otto and Thaddeus for vet mins?

Miami isn't really a hotbed for free agents either. I think people see their aging roster. They lost Max Strus and Gabe Vincent as free agents but just keep on finding more players like Highsmith and Orlando Robinson.

Lol so if Bobby flips Brown for 2 FRPs, how exactly did he screw Siakam's trade up? 5 first round picks for an expiring Siakam is a HAUL. Heck, even if the FO flips Bobby for 1FRP + quality player - they will have perfectly executed the Siakam trade.

This is the path for Bobby to salvage: flip Brown for 2 FRPs OR 1 FRP + 1 young player with upside. Also none of the FRPs should be in 2024 draft. Also at least 1 FRP has to be in 2025 year. If he can pull it off then we will forgive him for the Siakam trade botch-up.

Never forget that in Siakam trade, Bobby (1) failed to get even a single young player with upside from Pacers while they have bunch of such players, (2) get 2 lower draft picks in one of the worst draft ever (2024). I will be fired from my job on spot if I performed this badly.

Herb Jones, Larry Nance for Bruce Brown, 2024 1st

Raps get a long term starter, NO's gets a rookie scale player and a Herb replacement for a year or two in Brown.

I'd be VERY interested in Herb Jones. But is he even available? Seems a little premature for Pelicans to be giving up on him so early...

That should be the main goal. The OKC trade I refer to accomplish this goal. That trade was stated by a OKC writer so it might be something in works. Fingers crossed.

There have been some reports he could be available because they have some guys due for raises (like Trey Murphy)

how much do you value herb jones? i would even throw in the detroit 2nd pick in that deal too if you feel herb jones is the og 3&D replacement. then you're starters are iq + rj + herb + scottie + yak? that's a pretty fast retool.

We need defense and rebounding, even with poetl healthy, we will need more defense and rebounding. I don't want Duncan Robinson, gimme Herb Jones.

gonna cost a lot to nab herby, good contract and is a guy every time in the league would love to have. Would be perfect next to scottie tho, allow him to play the roamer role defensively.

Maybe do 3-way with NY getting Bruce Brown and Nance JR?

NO gets: Fournier, Grimes, #31 and 2004 1st pick (Dal or NY)

NY gets: Brown

Tor gets: Herb Jones and Nance

Yeah Raptors defense has gone to the dogs. Barnes need help on defense as well.
