I'd easily give up our 2024 picks from Indy to get either Trey Murphy or Herb Jones.

But NOLA aren't that stupid and Matt Moore has no idea what he's writing about.

As good as Brown is, he is a 23M dollar bench player. If a team will give you a cheap young controllable piece AND a future first rounder……they have to make that deal.

I also have never seen someone pitch himself to another team in an interview like he did in NY. I can’t imagine that went over well with his current teammates.

They are now a rebuilding team with vets like Schroder, Brown and Boucher as their main bench pieces. Not sure they will like playing behind IQ, Porter and Barrett….or if they will be motivated not playing for a championship any time soon.

Raps get a long term starter, NO's gets a rookie scale contract and a Herb replacement for a year or two in Brown.

I'd be VERY interested in Herb Jones. But is he even available? Seems a little premature for Pelicans to be giving up on him so early...

how much do you value herb jones? i would even throw in the detroit 2nd pick in that deal too if you feel herb jones is the og 3&D replacement. then you're starters are iq + rj + herb + scottie + yak? that's a pretty fast retool.

If that's all it takes then yea.. I'd do it.

Give us Peyton Watson+Nnaji+KCP. Done deal. Add Det 2nd if needed

KCP is extremely valuable to them. They're not giving up his shooting for Brown. Let alone adding their best prospect in Watson.

Yeah the Nuggets aren't getting Brown. It just won't happen.

Why people thinking Herb Jones even available. He is a defensive beast.

However, I think Brown gets moved pretty quickly. Some of the teams that want to contend probably want the help asap. The delta for them to wait till Feb 8th is not worth it. Might as well grab him now and he might influence the outcome of 4-5 games.

I'd give up the 2024 DET 2nd and Brown to nab Tari Eason+Filler if that's possible

I'd give up a lot for Herb tbh; he's that good defensively and gives you a nice core of IQ/HJ/SB to build around. We'll need to eventually swap Poeltl for a C that fits better and hopefully find a buyer for RJ by rehabbing his image/value for a couple years.

So basically they're picking Trey Murphy over Herb Jones. If this is true we should be all over that.

I don't see Pelicans wanting anything we have outside of maybe Yak and picks...I don't think they need anymore guards and i doubt they give up a good young prospect for Brown....They prolly would want Yak + 2 picks from us esp if they are giving up Nance for salary...They would just have JV....That would be a horrible thing if they want to make the playoffs...

Trey Murray is going to be expensive. He's going to want a McDaniels or Vassell type deal at a minimum.

I just don't value Herb Jones much although his contract is preetty reasonable. Good defender but he isn't some guy emerging offensively.

I think Toronto should build through the draft at this point. They have to pay IQ, Barrett and Barnes which is enough salary for a lotto-team. Getting these middling assets is not a path to a title, just a path towards being stuck in the middle.

When we acquired IQ and Barrett that was a pretty bold move because you committed to those two as starters essentially and they are flawed players. Masai cut corners and we have to live with it.

I don't think we need to give out any draft assets unless we are consolidating picks to draft higher. Instead, I would be looking to get 2025 picks. We need to secure Cam Boozer or Cooper Flagg. Those are the two that can change the direction of this franchise.

Lowry for Brown is 160k from being legal. Then we could send then Otto for Jovic and a 1st. It would save them a ton of Luxury tax.

Are trades based on full season salaries like they are in the internet trade checkers or are they based around the prorated salaries for the players at the time of the trade? If it is the prorated salaries maybe Lowry for Brown actual is legal at some point? Anyone know?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

that's a good lineup but just not enough shooting. The main reason they are moving Herb is that they are worried about his viability as a playoff player. He doesn't get guarded at all despite shooting 38% on 4 attempts per 36 from 3 this season.

I would still take him but you'll need a stretch 5 or IQ and Scottie will have to up their volume from 3.
