If he were average defensively, he would be an all star. Well, maybe not an all star, but not available for anything you would want to trade.

Could it be that he's a mediocre defender (not really as bad as he's ranked now) but being asked to carry so much of an offensive load that he's gassed and not committed on the defensive end? He wouldn't really be the same role in ORL that he is in PDX, so I'm curious about that.

No.

He’s awful defensively.

Playing him next to another weak defender in Lillard was a terrible idea. Scoot and Sharpe project to be better on that end than Lillard/CJ/simons but that’s not saying much.

Simons would be better next to a solid defensive guard and solid team d.

that's more than fair...but "awful" doesn't mean can't stay on the court in the greater scheme of things.

I could rattle off dozens of "awful" defenders that had or are having tremendous NBA careers.

I never said he couldn’t stay on the court. He is one of many terrible defensive guards, and the soft rules in this chuck and duck league don’t make it easy to play defense.

I just can't get on board for Brogdon. I love his game, but the last thing Orlando needs to do is send picks for a player that is known for having injury problems throughout his career. So much so that he didn't pass a physical this summer and caused a trade to be cancelled

I'm more so surprised to see posters who admonish our management for trading for injury prone players all the time to be on board with that. If he ends up being the only feasible option (he shouldn't be), I'd rather us make no moves

I don't see how Dlo fits better next to Young compared to Dejounte. Seems like a similar problem to me. While I like what I've seen from AB, I'd give up AB and probably two firsts for Murray if we think he'd fit with our chemistry.

While im not opposed to trading isaac, i am worried that he has 0 trade value and we would end up giving him away or trading him for a bad contract or something

Like if there was a way to trade isaac and get back monk, id be up for that, but outside of that i dont see how we improve on trading him to the kings (obviously not including fox or sabonis, neither of which would be available)

The only physical brogdon took this summer was with Portland, which he passed. He didn't fail the physical with the Clippers, they were just pushed up against a timeline to complete the trade because of KP's opt in, and the Clippers did not have time to do the physical with him.

I am against trading for Simons as he is marginally better than Cole. Stop trying to settle for a bandaid or less and trade for damned Murray.

He is not marginally better than Cole... but he isn't a great fit either.

I find it HIGHLY unlikely that the DeVos' would approve a trade for Rozier.

I think the targets are

Tyus
Brogdon
Hield
Huerter
Bojan

I want to believe one or two of them will be a Magic

Edit: effectively Fultz and Harris replacements to bridge AB and Jett's development window.

I'm still hoping Dejounte is an option... however unlikely it would be for this FO.
