Scratch Lowry. It's probably Duncan Robinson, Jovic, and a 1st. We would have to waive another player though. I wonder who that would be. It should be Temple, the leadership is nice but he's kind of useless.

Bruce Brown looks tiny on the Raptors. On Denver, he was insulated by Jokic, Gordon, Porter Jr., KCP, and Jeff Green. Pacers fans seem to think he was just ho-hum. He's a luxury piece for a contender. I hope we can find a team to overpay.

I mean what are the Lakers going to offer? Max Christie's contract would require a cap clogger like Hashimura, and they aren't going to send Austin Reaves. The Nuggets? The have a couple of young players, butto make the money work they would have to include Caldwell-Pope, which they won't. This repeats itself over and over as you scan the list of interested teams. Miami? They have a good expiring in Kyle, but aren't likely to include Jovic and certainly not Jaquez. I don't think this is going to be easy as some media think, since Masai has made it clear he wants prospects and flexibility more than picks, and the buyers lining up for Brown either have the expiring but not necessarily the right incentive, or they have the incentive player but not the short-term contracts needed to balance a deal.

For the Raptors to take on significant money that goes past next season, I'd say Masai will want more than one carrot, likely a really worthy prospect + pick that won't be near the end of the first round. Not easy to see where that will come from, since NYK wants to hang on to its first round picks to make a much bigger swing if the opportunity presents itself.

I think you are right in that Masai really emphasized future flexibility as key. I do like Hachimura as a role player, but it isn't impossible to find a similar player for cheaper and no long-term commitment. Also, I agree we won't get any team's premium prospects. The far likelier is that Toronto seeks more picks rather than middling role players.

To me, a very reasonable team who might want to add Brown is Utah. They don't have a lockdown defender and they keep saying they will move on from Clarkson. He could also fit into their system well and allow them to trade Clarkson on to a team like NY.

Talen Horton-Tucker
Kelly Olynyk
One of 2025 FRPs: Utah (unprotected) or Cleveland Cavaliers (unprotected) or Minnesota Timberwolves (unprotected)

for Bruce Brown

THT and KO can help now to fill out the bench, and Utah gets a good that can help in a playoff run. Toronto gets a 2025 pick and can avoid future salary issues.

I keep going back to Utah with Gary Trent ideas. I recall them liking him last off-season i believe.

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

It 100% would not be this.

There is no way there is this much demand for Bruce Brown. I don't believe any of these reports

Murray and veteran big man Clint Capela are options from the Hawks, but there is a sense that the team would prefer to send Grimes to a Western Conference team

Why would the Knicks care if Grimes is traded in the East? He's not KD. Especially if they are getting back D Murray and Capela.

I am adding Duncan Robinson to my untouchable spreadsheet just below Isiah Jackson.

Looking at the trade landscape, I think its Philly that ultimately makes the trade for him. Morris, Bamba, KJ + a FRP would be enough for me. We maintain our cap space going into this season and get a flyer look on both Bamba and KJ for the rest of the season. Morris + Melton works too.

D'Lo + Hayes works but I find it hard to believe they'd attach a FRP to get it done

After trying to dump him in every trade discussion for the past 24 months, Miami is now labelling him "untouchable" trying to restore some of his value in the market.

Masai isn;t blowing a tonne of 2024-25 cap space on Russell to back up Quickley. Forget the Lakers. They don;t have the assets.

is it available? OKC owns their 2025 pick.

He'd do it if the Lakers attached that FRP. D'Lo on a expiring contract next season isn't a bad asset to have if you can get the 26 or 28 FRP. We'd still have a ton of cap space even with D'Lo's 18.7m on the books. We could definitely use both his playmaking and shooting with our roster.

Too many incoming players. We'd need two more roster spots. Depending on the offers available I'd push for Grant Williams and Omax/Josh Green. It might be a big ask but he offers vocal leadership and has playoff experience and can guard bigger wings.

Raptors - Bertans, Holmes, #13 (OKC)
Mavs - Bruce Brown
OKC - Grant Williams, McDaniels, O-Max Prosper

OKC moves down 15 picks in this draft to get a solid fit age, money and skill-wise in Grant Williams at the 4. Might even close games with an SGA-Dort-JDub-GrantWilliams-Holmgren if Giddey is struggling and the lineup with Cason Wallace is too small. O-Max Prosper is a good fit for them in the future as they get a potential 3 and D guy with enough size to guard big wings. They have another late lottery pick anyways and tons more coming, and this is a weak draft.

We take on 17M in bad money next year (have to pay Bertans 5M after cutting him) but move up to a late lottery pick and hopefully we get a prospect out of it. Helps the tank next year, so it's good for the 2024 and 2025 drafts.

Mavs turn Grant Williams (not working out that well) and Holmes' bad final year into another type of guy like Exum and DJJ, who have fit better around Luka. It costs them O-Max. They probably still have to do something like Hardy + Kleber + pick for a rebounding upgrade but that's their problem.
Where's the D?

Guy has made a name for himself shutting down the other team’s best player in the playoffs. Won a chip doing it.

maybe put some thought into these hypothetical trades before suggesting them. The Magic already have like 50 guards, you think they want to add more?

Poeltl is back friday so they probably want to see how things gel with Poeltl back in the starting lineup before making any moves.
