Probably Curry. I don't agree with the "not even close" people though. Kobe is 5 time NBA champion and HOF, I'd say it's close.

I chose Curry because I think he fits the modern league better and he's easier to build around. He can play with pretty much anyone.

Way too much recency bias in favor of Curry. Nobody in their right mind would take Steph over Kobe. This board is skewing way too young these days, seems like the average poster here didn't see Kobe, which makes me wonder why any of them even think MJ was any good. The only real argument in favour of Kobe is longevity. With Kobe, you are getting a guy that will come in younger and start contributing earlier. He was a significant contributor from the age of 21, whereas for Curry it was closer to 24.

But at their peak, Curry is the stronger contributor and the more impactful player. He's less ball dominant and has a personality that is less likely to conflict with teammates and coaching staff. It strikes me that he'd be easier to build around and just a lot easier to deal with.

I think the Kobe experience without Phil Jackson could get a bit dicey. So I'd have to lean towards Curry.
