not really, because in between those two seasons, there was another postseason and everyone saw how big of a fraud he is.
I mean the same posters who keep posting the PER, scoring, points per min stats etc. now, posted those same stats last year

he's having a better statistical season than last season but the gist of it is the same and we all saw what that was worth in the playoffs
so no, he doesn't have a better case this year cuz everyone can see through the blatant ducking, rest, foul baiting and stat padding to actually take these stats seriously. well, almost everyone

I am not a believer that playoffs dictate regular season rewards so Embiid could theoretically win 3+ MVPs and never make it out of the 2nd round.

Meanwhile, Embiid MVP supporters are the same guys who said Jokic couldn't win more MVPs since he didn't win a ring, they seemed to not have the same standards for Joel though.
