Haven’t we learned that these tournaments mean very little? 8 game sample sizes against a bunch of rosters that have 1-2 NBA level players on them.

We really learned nothing from Schroder earlier this year

-look at his international play! He’s ready to make a jump!

-his 3pt shooting has improved!

Where is Schroder now? Oh, that’s right, back to his middling efficiency self as a bench guard. Couldn’t sustain his early season play at all.

Now, does Barrett have more upside because of his youth? Yes. Is he already regressing back to his mean, also yes (shooting 29% from 3 over his last 6 games). We need to have more patience with these guys before proclaiming their greatness. And I say this as someone who hopes RJ becomes great.

Another big reason why I believe RJ will be a star for years to come is because he flourishes when the lights are bright.
He's always shown up in big games.
Has a long list of clutch baskets.

Def looking like he'll be our best natural go-to in the half-court for a bucket when Siakam bounces.

Remember when people were writing off RJ when the trade happened and felt he was overpaid, with little to no room for improvement?

Sad thing was it was mainly Raps fans that were writing him off. Fake fans.

The silver lining in this raptors cold streak. He is really good at 23 hopefully he keeps this going.

RJ is the only consistent scorer we have right now.

I’m pretty surprised mainstream media hasn’t highlighted RJs improved play ever since the trade to the Raps.

So this is 12 games in now.

I just took a glance at his splits over his career each month. He's literally never had a month as good as this in his entire career before.

His shot diet has changed. He has halved the mid-range shots he has usually taken in his career. He is taking slightly less threes, but taking a lot more shots at the rim and between 3-10 feet. He's shooting a higher percentage than is sustainable from those, but it's still very different than how he's played before.

There are aspects of this that are sustainable. If it's really the case that he could not fit with Randle and he's getting to play a better style of game here then his contract goes potentially from being bad, to being reasonable.

Dude is a whole new player with us. Good on Darko and his staff for figuring out how to unlock his game. Hopefully he doesn't regress to old habits (chucking mid-range jumpers).

These are borderline all star numbers. Can't believe people were saying he is a toxic player when he is so talented and is still only 23.

RJ plays we a bit of an edge to him that I really like to see. Dream scenario is that BBQ become best friends and we get a banana boat photo with them haha

RJ has a different demeanor on the court than the other players including Scottie, seems more determined and focused and doesn’t take plays off..but its not surprising at all given his background and who his dad is.

If they can correct his shot mechanics id bet on him to overtake this franchise. (Even in warm ups his shot looks shaky)

Was raised to be a NBA player from the moment he could walk and it shows.

Him and Scottie are like polar opposites in their demeanour. I don’t think he’ll be an all nba guy but I can see an all star or 2 appearance in him.

If this guy can develop his shot and advance it to a step back 3, he'd open up his whole game

He's been awesome. We all keep thinking he'll tail off at some point, but he just keeps putting up these crazy efficient 20+ point games.

And this is without the 3 falling so maybe this is semi sustainable
