Bring Kyle home to teach these kids how it’s done

Post#1 » by Oakvillehoops » Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:14 pm

Kyle has removed many Miami heat teammates upon leaks that he is being traded.

Give them Schroeder and GTJ or whatever it is, and bring him home as the player coach we need. Lowry is the master mind of the We the North era, let
Him influence the young guys today

I actually see a pathway to Kyle coming back. Something that I never felt with the endless Vince threads over the years. But it is probably next year in a temple role than now unless he really is ready to retire.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

If they give us assets, sure.

Lowry could be our Haslem for the next decade for all I care
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

And then transition him to coaching.
Then bring back Gasol and Ibaka as big men coaches and draft a few bigs this/next year.
Championship DNA restored.

Does he actually wants to be a coach?

Or is this just based on high basketball IQ

FWIW, the Heat had a charity event last night and Lowry was there, looking dapper and happy.

With yesterday being an off day, I am also 99% sure he golfed in the morning, something he cannot do in Toronto in January. Doesn't mean he won't get traded to the Raps (he likely IS getting moved) but he definitely won't come willingly as a UFA in the summer.

I definitely feel like Kyle wants to be a part of the game in some capacity, though I can see him getting frustrated with low IQ players. I'd put Kyle in the "genius" tier of BBIQ, so coaching players that just "don't get it" might drive him up the wall.

Or not. Coaching is all about adjusting your approach. He showed a penchant for making the most out of any player he played with.

nah; its one thing if its a buy out and him signing here
another thing if we are giving up even marginal assets for him. gtj/schroder etc should be able to get you 3-5 seconds minimum on the trade market.

If they are throwing in assets as well, sure. Otherwise...no? Can sign him as your Garrett Temple in the off season.

We can't give up assets for a player who is out of the league in a year or 2 lol....We are in the Barnes era....The Lowry/DD era has been done n gone...If its a buyout and he can be our mentor locker room leader...Cool love it....But no way would i give up Trent or even Schroder for him ....Thats poor and bad asset management....We need to get the most out of every some what valuable asset we have....Lowry does not impact the game anymore like he once has and hes not going to contribute anything here cause we are not a winning team atm and it will take a few years for us to get there.

I won't give assets for Lowry but this team right now really need a Lowry level veteran to mature our young core(I believe Thad didn't have that influence compare to Groat)

This is why you flip players. Traded Kyle and got Precious (and Dragic) and flipped him while on rookie contract with OG to get IQ and Barrett. :D

Yeah he already has a championship so he doesn't need to ring chase and he is treated like a king here.

I think it first has to be established how Kyle meshes with Scottie. Not as a player but as a mentor and potential coaching hire. If their two personalities are oil-and-water, then I think you leave Kyle to enjoy his legacy separately during the Scottie Era. I worry a bit given the apparent friction between Scottie and the hold-over vets like Fred. But if Scottie and Kyle get along, wow... that would be an awesome add for the franchise (again...not as a player... but as a coach).

Same goes for Demar TBH.
