Looking at our depth chart

Pg: Rozier / Richardson / Hampton (2) / Smith (IR)
Sg: Herro / D. Robinson / Williams (2)
Sf: Butler / Jaquez / Cain / Swider (2)
Pf: Jovic / Love / Martin / Highsmith
C: Adebayo / Bryant / O. Robinson

Our power rotation is the weak spot but we're limited on assets. We cannot afford to keep Martin so including him in trade makes sense. We could trade Herro for an expiring player and a first (basically recoup our assets) and start Robinson, which would allow us to retain Martin and use retain flexibility. Of course, the same could be done with Robinson but I don't think we'll find anyone willing to give up a first for him.

Given his injuries, his contract, and the overlap with Rozier, I would trade Herro and I'd be targeting Kelly Olynyk, THT, and a first round pick

I honestly wonder what Herro's value is on the trade market. Probably not as high as we would hope. If the idea is to get rid of his salary maybe the Warriors are a team to look at. Paul for Herro would makes sense. We get Herro off the books, they get a very poor version of Klay

It’s time! But realistically I know who’s going to be asked to sacrifice their offense and it’s unfortunate

historically we have seen Bam and Jimmy sink into the shadows

It will be very interesting to see what happens....

I wonder how many times Terry brings the ball up the court and goes right into "scoring mode", we see Herro do that from time to time too... it will be interesting to see how that plays out with Miami allowing everyone to bring the ball up the court.

We have given Herro a pass on some ugly ball this year, with the caveat "maybe he had too" due to talent issues on the court. Us fans felt that well, at least to different degrees...I wonder how the Team feels about it.

So I am right there with you on poor unfortunate bam being asked to give up some offense....and honestly...I think with the Bam/Herro game, Bam/Duncan game...they should add the Bam/Terry game and work from the middle of the court outwards to cutting wings, then to JJJ/Jimmy post stuff....

we will see

I agree I think with Jimmy in coasting mode our top offensive set should be the Terry and Bam 2 man game as both are at the top of the league as pick n roll handling and rolling. It just makes too much since and their skill sets don’t overlap, they fit perfectly. Also Terry is 2nd in the league in pull up 3s at 41% behind only Harden (44%) with at least 140 attempts. Rozier coming off Bams screens against drop coverage will dominate.

Rozier
Bam
Herro
Jimmy

That should be the offensive hierarchy until Jimmy leaps to 1st in the playoffs

Bojan yes. Kuzma no. This is about next season

Go look at next year's numbers. We can. Both

Kuzma $24M
Rozier $25M
Herro $29M
Bam $35M
Jimmy $49M

Total $162M

2nd Apron $182M

You have $20M to fill out 10 roster spots, it’s not going to work.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong

Herro contract is closer to 25 mil, he is never making those contract clauses

It’s not going to work. It’s wishful thinking. Lowry’s contract has been lauded as the get out of the apron tax free card. We only save 4 million now and 6.8 if Martin walks and that still has us in the apron. Something has got to give.

Terry's been known to bring the whole team to Miami for early offseason workouts in Charlotte...gotta love this guy!

Rozier is signed for around $26 mil per year for the next two years.

On a bottom feeder like the Hornets no, had he been putting up these number all season on the Heat were likely seeded much higher and then yes he would join Bam there this year for sure

Which is really like a 15 mil a year contract with this inflated market

We got Milwaukee Dame level production in a 4 year younger body for the cost of a 27 1st rounder. After the talk of trading the entire team away for Dame, this seems pretty funny to me.

Yeah, with all the talk of contracts, a 20ish million over contract today might look super solid once that revenue hits.

Scary Terry is a Heat!!!!

I like the move a lot, he gives us a true ball handler and creator. This will take a ton of pressure off Herro and really everybody. Spo can now ask these guys to play in roles they thrive in without asking them to initiate the offense every possession. Lobs are back on the menu, I’m excited about watching the rest of this season.

Now, we just need to get to the playoffs healthy while pumping Jimmy full of legal nutrients and possibly some cybernetics, and we should be good

You guys really think they're just going to dump Herro or Robinson for an expiring or cap space? I could see Herro for a legit Allstar like Lillard, but if Heat wanted cap space to get under tax why wouldn't they have just let Lowry walk?

Tax level is $165 and if they let Lowry walk then they would have been under going in to next season.
