Re: Miami Heat 2023/2024 Regular Season - Thread 3.0
I don't care about THT or Kelly Olynyk for that matter. I care about not counting on a guy who you know is going to get injured again when we need him the most. I care about the franchise being able to make moves beyond this year. I care that we seem to play better with Robinson than we do with Herro.RexBoyWonder wrote:BBallFreak wrote:
Given his injuries, his contract, and the overlap with Rozier, I would trade Herro and I'd be targeting Kelly Olynyk, THT, and a first round pick
Jesus Christ man, what is this wired attraction to THT?!?! He's trash....Kelly is a nice 3rd big that gets played off the floor when you need defense from your bigs...
Some of you are really selling Herro low.....
What's app hard to understand about that?

Now, please for the love of everything good and Holy.... Give the damn ball to Terry, No more PG Herro, and for all our sanities no more J-Rich PG. If J_Rich touches the ball it's because he's open to shoot a three. No steps, No Dribbles, remove all else from your mind besides shooting. We still need a backup PG unless we want to run Jaquez as the back up

Stfu Erny.
He averaged 8-4-5 in the ECF game 7 run shooting 29% from the field and 24% from 3.
He was much more efficient last year averaging 9-4-4 off the bench but was devastated about the bench role.
Thats not $30M a year production.

Assuming Tyler will always be injured is a bit much. That poop package for a guy who has been better this year deserves some ridicule.
He could stay injured, or like Curry, he could find some health and be his best self. Way too early to give up on Herro for that package of poop. Lets not be hasty.

We did it! We finally did something. If our defense comes around we're cooking again.

jbsays wrote:You guys really think they're just going to dump Herro or Robinson for an expiring or cap space? I could see Herro for a legit Allstar like Lillard, but if Heat wanted cap space to get under tax why wouldn't they have just let Lowry walk?
Tax level is $165 and if they let Lowry walk then they would have been under going in to next season.
They’re not trading Herro, certainly not this year anyway. Not sure why that’s even a thing.

It was a mistake from the start. What we paid is a lesson learned. When Pat started talking bout draft picks being team building assets Miami would have to invest in, it felt like he finally understood how far off base hed gotten with his whale approach. He got a whale, not the one he was expecting though.

The thing with Lowery....
I saw a dude hustling and selling out....dude was playing as hard as he could for stretches this year
I don't doubt the dude gave everything he could give this year
The end result tho...he was not very good. If he was a young 10 day contract player, maybe you roll with that for the upside....but you can't pay that production 30m
For long stretches this year we had 4 on 5 on offense....pretty bonkers they replaced an almost nothing player for a 20ppg dude

You'd swear Lowry wasn't easily replaceable by any decent guard doing that run. I'd also say any decent guard replacing Lowry and we probably make another finals run the year we lost to the Celtics in the ECF. Lowry didn't give us **** that series.

Time to start starting Highsmith instead of Jovic imo...get some more defense in that starting lineup.

Id give Jovic as much PT as I could. As long as we dont start falling apart (doubtful), I want Jovic to get mas reps.

Erny knows Lowry was washed and his time was done here but also has to put up a good face cause Butler and Lowry are still like family even though Butler knew too it was time to move on

I think Rex was the big Rozier fanboy. Congrats for getting your dude for the cost of a 27 pick. Good work.

Yep. Elite defender and catch and shoot 3s. If Herro is going to be starting next to Rozier we have to have another great defender in the lineup and they have to be a low usage offensive guy.

Bam doing this despite not having a pick and roll ballhandler in the top 30 in efficiency (effectively meaning worse than that of every other team in the league).
This gun be good

His game 6 was massive that series I’ll give him that but we didn’t pay him $90M to show up for one game
