Nope.

It could happen. That would be absolute worst case for us.

Almost makes me wanna trade the pick now for a future pick just to avoid the 1% chance

Yeah, well according to ESPN BPI there's also a chance we make the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

As much as I don't value mid 1sts as much as others do...it would be fun to finally have a draft where we have multiple firsts / early 2nds again.

If they end up keeping their pick, they probably trade 1 or 2 of those late picks for future picks. It would be hard to develop 4 rookies at one time and you might want to diversify and split up your picks into different draft years anyways.

It depends, it could be an over-seas guy or someone who is bigger project that's in the g-league.

Please no more projects.

If Halliburton misses significant time here there’s a solid chance they miss the playoffs. Hell - right now they’re only in the play-in and anything can happen in a single game.

They miss the playoffs and we’re looking at a 3% chance that pick isn’t ours (if they’re the 14th worst team). They move any further and it gets a bit more sketchy.

Man Indianas next 5 games are really rough..

Imagine we come into the 2024 draft with pick #6 (Ours), #12ish (IND), 27ish (Late first) and 31?

That would be either a major cupboard restock or we could push some of these firsts to later years

Haliburton won't play the next 3 games apparently. Could be in more free fall.

Hamstring strains are really tough to recover from and can take months to properly heal. I am curious if it will be longer to avoid the risk.

That said, they played pretty well with Haliburton out and they are not missing any other key guys plus they have Siakam.

In the games I watched I saw Siakam being thrown into a bunch of roles, including playing C at times, which I don't think he ever willingly did in Toronto. The key will be Rick Carlisle. He can make things work with Siakam being the playmaker. It is not like they have Darko behind the controls.

Blake Murphy says top 3 protected. Turns into second round picks if Indiana somehow wins the lottery and jumps into the top 3.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

If they miss the playoffs, its very highly unlikely they get into top 3. Less than 3% chance. There would be 1% chance that it'll be 4th. Othwerwise It'll be 14th pick which is fine for us. Or if they do make the playoffs as a Play-In team, it'll be 16th or 17th pick.

This draft has all-time devastation or elation potential. Imagine they moved up to #1 with their own pick and #4 with the Pacers pick. Now imagine they drop to 7th and it goes to the Spurs and the Pacers sneak into the top 3, leaving the Raptors with only the 27th and 31st picks in the draft.

Both unlikely scenarios but the swing would be crazy.

Hope the Pacers make a panic trade and deplete their assets for a guy like Lavine.

We can trade them back Bruce for the prospects they deemed untouchable

Still early. I expect the Pacers will turn a corner like clippers did after a horrible start after acquiring Harden.

Return to Toronto Raptors
