Re: Slightly OT: Gortat
Rough times in Golden State. The Polish Hammer comes down on top of it all.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

Bob Myers ran away. You know there's skeletons in that closet.

When was this exactly? Did we proceed to sign Lin that year instead?

Clippers waived him on Feb. 7, 2019.

Re: Slightly OT: Gortat
Can he still play? lol
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars
Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid
There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

We signed Eric Moreland in March instead.

I imagine it was between him and Eric Moreland. Gortat decided to ghost us for a chance to be with Golden State.
Then Golden State decided to ghost him too

It was the same day. I'd assume we were trading for Gasol regardless and just looking at Gortat as a Greg Monroe replacement.

Re: Slightly OT: Gortat
He would've been a "NBA champion" just like Moreland.
Unless I'm personally invested in the guy's success (like Derozan), or he's a league legacy player (like KG, Marc Gasol), I was happy to see all the ringer chasers fail (like Blake Griffin/all those BKN guys).

We might have gotten lucky too though. We beat Philly in game 7 thanks to Greg Monroe, basically. Think he was -6 in 1:30 in the first quarter and then -3 in 6 seconds in the 2nd quarter. We went small with Serge at C, Pascal, Kawhi, Danny G. and FVV. If we have Gortat who knows, maybe we try and run him out against Monroe and we don't win that time so handily and force Embiid back into the game, which might have kept Embiid fresher late in the game. lots of knock on effects.

We called him 6 times and he ghosted us cuz he thought we sucked / he could ride easier coattails in GS. F-'em, no ring for you!

Re: Slightly OT: Gortat
He probably wouldn't have played much more than Moreland. Moreland was the lowkey MVP for ensuring Gasol didn't fall off the bus.

He is the reason they're in the position they are right now. He wasted all their draft picks on busts instead of trading them and then bolted.

He would been likely out of the rotation for us.

He wasn't gonna get minutes when Ibaka was cooking off the bench.
