I would definitely look at Nick Richards and ship off Vuc. I'd like to see how we look with a defensive minded C and the Hornets don't have much use for him with Williams their long term option.
We could split the C minutes between Richards & Drummond for the rest of the season. Zach for Hayward + Richards + 1st? We get out of Zach for an expiring contract and add a possible long term center option.

I'd do that deal, but doubt CHA wants to give up a 1st while rebuilding. Even if they did, we'd probably need to attach that 1st to ship out Vuc.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

I thought that's where lavine might end up when this all started, before all the rumors about LA, SAC, etc..
CHA is most likely still going to be bad, so if they trade heavily protected picks they won't convey so they'll get Lavine without really giving up anything valuable. Basically a rerun of us trading Lauri for heavily protected pick that won't ever convey.
Yeah if CHA didn’t want Rozier for $23m they aren’t gonna want Lavine at $40m.
It’s looking like there may be no market for Zach, sadly.

He is valueless? There aren't 25 people in the world who could have that statline from the C position.
It's ok to say a player is bad at defense and struggling from 3 and not have them be terrible.
Tony Delk scored 53 points in a game.

Re: NBA Trade Thread #10
there's this idea, and it's the 3 way deal that I think it's going to take to get the Bulls some kind of return
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10106168-a-3-team-trade-to-get-lavine-to-lakers-tip-off-bulls-rebuild-push-okc-all-in
The only thing is either the Lakers need to toss in Jaxson Hayes or OKC needs to add Jaylin Williams so the Bulls have a body to backup Vuc. With no other deals I can see DLo coming off the bench playing with Dosunmu and Williams and maybe even Bertans. Hopefully JHS can find the floor.
Of course the option remains to trade DeRozan which puts Patrick in the starting 5, and depending on who they get back you change the rotation. They could also go all in on the shuffle and move Caruso and what does he bring back. Not to rule out redirecting DLo.
The Bulls pick probably comes in around 11-14, the Clippers look like 20-24 right now, my thinking has become either move that PORT pick or work on seeing what it's worth something that gets it back to the Blazers.

I like the deal personally (although I don't hate D'Lo like most in here), especially if the Bulls could get either Jaxson Hayes or Jaylin Williams included in the deal.

Re: NBA Trade Thread #10
I wonder if Charlotte would be interested in taking back Lonzo Balls contract for one of Hayward, PJ, or Bridges. They are actually the perfect team to take on that contract and won’t have to pay him this season, insurance does. Also they can unload a contract while doing so since they are tanking anyway.
I don’t see Zach being involved to go there anymore. Again if they are tanking, there’s no reason to add Zach. They don’t need better talent right now or a big and long contract to deal with.

Bulls trade - Craig/Terry
Pacers trade - Toppin
Pacers get a solid role playing 3 and D player and a solid prospect.
Bulls get a solid PF in Toppin. I would like to trade DDR/Lavine for the best assets we can get and then lead a retool/rebuild around Ayo/White/Williams/Toppin. would be young and uptempo and with the right draft picks and cap management can lead to a better team down the line.

I want nothing to do with Bridges, human piece of trash.
But Lonzo, Taylor/Dalen/Phillips + Port 1st for PJ Washington and Nick Richards could be interesting. Helps shore up the Bulls frontcourt.

Is Miles Bridges an option? Off-court cases aside, he's one of the very few player who is really talented and fit with Coby and Pat's timeline.

This would be good. Toppin could fight for the starting PF spot right now, and at least be a young full sized backup with upside. Push P will to the bench till the end of the year, we re-sign him for less in the off-season and start Pat at SF next year next to Toppin.

The issue with Toppin is that I've heard he's not a good defender and looking at his stats he's not very good at rebounding (neither is PW). But I haven't watched him close enough to really judge.

I actually like this deal. I try to keep Drummond though. Guys like dalen Terry or Carter would be the odd guys out and should be included in the deal. Not Drummond. But I like that deal.
D'Angelo Russell could also play a good role here off the bench without the media beating on him to excuse lebron. These guys on the bulls actually like each other and could get Russell in the fold and get the best out of him. Our bench could use the scoring.

He's shooting 41% from 3 this year at 3 attempts a game, 58% from the field. 25, going on 26, still has room to grow and get better. 6'9, 220, good size. Was the number 8 pick in 2020, paired next to Pat Will, could be a potent combo, especially if we get a defensive center like Capela, for instance. Will be buried in Pacers depth chart. Dunk contest athleticism, we have few athletes on this squad, maybe NO high tier athletes if we trade Zach.
If all it costs us is Craig/Terry, worth a shot for a relatively young player with potential. Could have a Lauri breakout, lol, not likely, but possible.

I'm not against the idea, but I'm hesitant because Indiana was suppose to be an opportunity for Toppin to show what he can do and 44 games in Indiana is already looking to trade him.
