So you want to hire a coach to be a lame duck coach for 1/2 a year.Omg might as well let prunty do it thrn you aint getting anyone to do that job as a lane duck

Hubie would do it.

I'm only half kidding.

In Milwaukee's realm of courtly woes, where dreams and triumphs decay,
Once coached a man named Grief Griffin, with tactics led astray.
Through struggles and defeats, he helmed the Bucks with sorrow,
A mentor lost in chaos, his coaching lacked tomorrow.

In the sea of green and cream, where once stood heroes tall,
Griffin's reign brought only gloom, like shadows on the wall.
With every fumble and missed shot, his guidance went awry,
A discordant symphony, as hopes began to die.

Through seasons filled with disappointment, he faced the game's cruel jest,
Griffin faltered endlessly, a coach put to the test.
In the echoes of Milwaukee's jeers, and the silence of the crowd,
Grief Griffin's legacy dwindles, where failures speak aloud.

So here's a somber note for Griffin Grief, in coaching's grim embrace,
Whose presence on the court subsides, leaving a vacant space.
In Milwaukee's basketball lore, his story fades with time,
A dirge for a fallen coach, in each melancholy line.

I kinda feel bad for Griff. Not that I know him personally or anything but that’s gotta burn pretty bad your 1st big chance just completely explodes in your face. Sucks to suck I guess. Seems like he took it on the chin rather well tho. I’d love to say it was fun while it lasted but that’d be a total lie. God speed Griff.

Rivers’ career has hit rough patches, potholes and he’s driven at least three franchises off the cliff, but Rivers’ agent always finds a way to damage organizations from within. Rivers has more lives than Jason Vorhees.

It’s also jarring to witness Philadelphia’s more cohesive offensive unit since losing Harden and Rivers. His rotations, the execution and outdated offensive philosophy have been found wanting in recent years. The league has evolved since Rivers’ crowning achievement in 2008 with the Boston Celtics, but he hasn’t caught up to the times. Nurse overhauled the Sixers offense to resemble the Denver Nuggets’, Harden was shipped to the Clippers, and ran more of their offense through Embiid and sailed through the East.

Philadelphia’s free-flowing offense highlights just how much potential Rivers’ Sixer squads squandered. Rivers is really the Bucks’ only option. He has them cornered unless the they decide to ride with veteran assistant Joe Prunty for the duration of the season. Then again, if they wanna drudge up the fossils of a retread, maybe they should look to Mike Budenholzer.

Does deadspin ever write any actual news or just random articles telling me what I should be angry at?

Griff couldn't *quite* take the high road. "Can't control everything" from Haynes article. Okay dude. GTFO. For everyone who doesn't know him saying he's a nice guy and you feel sorry. Nah. I'll speculate and feel differently. Good riddance.

I do too, he never should have had this job in the first place and instead should have been somewhere like Detroit. On the other hand, he was apparently so unliked by his players and so stubborn in sticking with schemes that clearly do not work that he forced ownership to fire him after winning 30 out of 43 games. That’s unreal.

Don't feel bad for Griffin. He will make more money over the next 4 years sitting around doing nothing than most of us will see in our lifetimes, all because he was so incredibly terrible at his job that the team would rather pay him to go away than try and have him fix anything.

He can go boycott Beyonce concerts with his son because of the imminent rapture or something.

The options are really meh and then there's Doc which will have the whole NBA laughing at us, if they're not already. In Europe, all they do is play D, so I'd entertain this thought, but who? The only dude I know is that Serbian dude who always looks pissed. Surely he'd hate coaching divas in the NBA.

Maybe it was more sudden than we know.

True. Remember Horst pulled the trigger early on Kidd because he just couldn't take it anymore in practice. The upside of running with Prunty the rest of the season is we're going to be making a play for Kerr. And I honestly think Prunty is still an upgrade.

Well we have more names to put into a tier list and McMillan is at the absolute bottom of it.
