Double botching what should be an easy decision is Chicago Bears organization level stuff. Why are they making the easy stuff hard.

Did I watch too many Zucker bros movies as a kid and read too many Pynchon novels as an adult? Only God can judge.

Is it weird Stotts hasn't been rumored at all for the gig?

Also he guts thru 100 days he's sitting in the coaching chair. Hell could have been earlier.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

That’s my question as well. Why not hire the runner up in Atkinson?

My guess is that it would be difficult for Atkinson to ditch his team mid season after another assistant unexpectedly passed away. HC positions don’t grow on trees though. Regardless, it sounds like Doc was already hired and they’re using Woj to give them cover.

End this. They don't like each other, about a ten year feud.

Epi, would Stotts come back for at least this season as head coach?

Hell, if I know. I was shocked when he took the assistant job and when he walked away from it (although once I heard the story I was not shocked about that part. I know he loves Dame and coaching him and I know Dame loves the bright green light he had with Stotts on offense. Dame's game is more fluid when he knows the coach is very confident about Dame's offensive choices and will not second guess him. I hope the next coach knows how to optimize Dame's game.

If Doc was consulting Griff the last month or 2 or whatever it was, and there was absolutely zero change for the better under his apparent tutelage, why is just giving him the job really being considered a good idea? Was Griff just stubbornly not listening to Docs direction or was Doc just feeding Griff his own personal thoughts and opinions on how to improve and it just wasn't working because Doc is just like Griff and clueless? Has this been talked about yet? It’s a valid question in my opinion.

I don't think it matters at this point. The Doc train is full steam ahead and feels inevitable. :(

I guess Stotts intrigues me. Doc or Mcmillan? Hell no

Might be worth a billboard. Would he take PJ and Stotts on as assistants? No one would even have to provide Barkley w a list of suggestions

Remember when the Bucks were praised for their thorough interview process? And yet they somehow ended up with Griffin?

This firing was overdue despite the optics. Hiring a rookie HC for this team with an aging core and championship or bust aspirations never made sense to me. The whole Stotts ordeal proved this was a disaster from Day 1. At least Horst was smart enough to acknowledge the mistake sooner than later.

"Hey, we are paying you to do nothing. What'd you say you come on back and give us something for that money" - I'm sure Bud would be all over that..
You'd have to pay him in addition to what he's making for doing nothing.

rilamann wrote:The funny thing if we hire Doc is that with 40 games to go, it looks like we're on a collision course to play the Sixers in round 2.

Doc goes up against the team that fired him, and goes up against the Coach that replaced him and the Bucks passed on. That would be some serious popcorn worthy drama.
We know Doc's track record in the 2nd round.

Going directly from Bud to Doc would have been bad enough, but this is just plain sad.

I rather have new guy come in and not guys who have already had a crack at it and had marginal success. Doesn't Miami have any up and coming guys?
