I watched the games in high school, from Canada. And read a lot of the books since, Clyde's, Bill Bradley's, Red Holzman's, Miracle on 33rd St by Phil Berger. What a team.

They were so much fun to watch. The way they moved the ball was a thing of beauty. Completely selfless and played as one.

Which book did you like best?

Sorry, late reply. Life on the Run by Dollar Bill is one of the best sports books ever. Great insight into the personalities of the main players and Red, and the team dynamics. Miracle on 33rd a great recap of the magical 1970 season as it happened. And my favorite description of Clyde ever. Paraphrasing from memory, Phil Berger wrote how Barnett and Riordan were good defensive guards but when the dribbler changed direction there was a flurry of arms and legs scrambling to keep up. Whereas when Clyde guarded a dribbler he slid and changed direction in sync with the guy, like he was in the same rhythm as the ball handler. So smooth, no wasted motion.
