I always get so frustrated watching the Clipper bigs. They don't make an impact. They are servicable, and Zu has been decent. But Theis and Plumley have just been out there today. Theis has been terrible.

Zu is way better than decent.
Agree about our backup centers tonight…underwhelming

Coffey is definitely one of those "stay ready" guys you like to have on a team.

This team hasn’t taken the Lakers seriously this season. They keep messing around and find a loss at the end.
Looking to do the same tonight.
PG with some whack *** passes.

Need to pump some air in the tires and finish this game. Sloppy play killing us

I know he don’t care but Leonard needs 1 rb and 1 as to get a triple double.

can't trust PG with the ball, he's reverted back to really-bad-as-a-pg-PG and it's ugly

Whew, you kind of knew that LAL was gonna give a spirited effort with Lebozo out. I don't like that small ball is back to being the order of the day. Hopefully it only lasts as long as Zu is out.

Wasn’t always pretty. Let the Lakers get too close too many times.
But they got the win.

Great game by Kawhi. PG needs to keep his focus. Too many stupid turnovers which kept the game within striking distance. Should have won by 20. We gave up a lot of offensive rebounds. Wish Lebron played so we could have gotten a true test.

soooo
i'm glad we won...
...but this one i would think is not one of those wins that makes you feel like you built on something to carry forward. our bigs were overmatched, badly. and despite the lakers not having lebron and being at a massive talent disadvantage, they were a threat all night. it is pretty obnoxious though that this team has more or less looked low-energy and complacent more than makes me comfortable: twice against the lakers (including tonight) and obviously meh against the nets until late.
as far as getting outmanned by their bigs: i will say that lue is smart enough to look at this and find ways to further optimize and make small-ball more functional, so it's not like we can't get decent takeaways from this game. if anything, ok yeah sure, use this as an opportunity to really lean into it and figure something out. but for the moment, it certainly looks like if the team doesn't have zu at the ready when we most need him, it's gonna be really dicey against any team with a competent big.

Coffey is not quite as good, but Ty has been giving him some of Mann's minutes. I've been fighting [lol] with Clippers pre- and postgame host Adam Ausland on Twitter about T-Mann.
Mann is the Clippers' most tradeable piece. The Sixers wanted him bad. Now he's shooting 40+% from 3, he's hot. If we can get a REAL 6'9" stretch-4, you gotta do it.

The last few games I’ve seen, small ball has worked well for them.
They clamped down on the lakers the final half of the fourth today, stormed back against the nets last game, and and nearly did the same to the t wolves before that. Cant recall any other times recently where the team went small, so I may be wrong here lol
I’d like to see some more games, but I think some of those bigger/lengthier teams cause this version of the clippers some problems… theis and plumlee are definitely serviceable players, but I think against certain teams (lakers, t wolves, maybe Denver) Lue probably won’t play them as much.

Nick, I like your posts and ideas but I quit on them after a sentence or two without proper punctuation. Just sayin'.

Kawhi IS the team leader. They play as hard as he does. Except Russ. He's coming off the bench like a hurricane. It's who he is, was, and ever shall be.
