If Risacher can become MPJ without the back issues and better defense and playmaking, that’s a superstar

You can always rely on KOC to make a crap draft seem more exciting. I do like Sarr and Williams as prospects though, and the Dragic comparison for Topic actually makes me like him more.

well ya, you gotta pump up a rather boring draft.

i think this forum will be hyped as the date gets sooner, dependant on the Raptors draft spot.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.

It's very possible that Raps will have 4 draft picks in the first 31 picks this year...
And all these quotes below are from the beginning of this thread... Just two months ago!:)

Tor_Raps wrote:This is gonna be a depressing thread. Do we even have our own 2nd rounder or was that given for Yak too?

Thanks Masai

Potential wrote:We don't know if we'll even have our pick and the draft is ass. Next question/thread

JShuttlesworth wrote:Very frustrating that we (likely) don't have a pick this year. It was just a shortsighted move from Masai that makes this year hard to watch

Always hear this crap and never happens.

We all have different opinions, and that is one thing that makes this forum great.

I want this kid and Salaun. Would trade 31 and 27 with the Pacers pick to make it happen

How many guys have a realistic chance of going #1? 5, 6?

LNB is a good measure with what happened to Bilal last year and how guys will translate to the NBA. Raps also need to replace a ton of length they just lost in the trades

Salaun making good progress this year , definitely a target

Have to do my homework on a lot of the Top 10 guys (looked into Sarr, Williams, & Topic) but at a glance, the names at the top don't necessarily excite me.

Topic looks interesting but 3 point shooting might be an issue and didn't really get an understanding of his point of attack defence. Sarr looks cool but far from the elite level can't miss big you find in every draft. Williams doesn't blow me away - 11/22 from the 3 so far this season. Would want to see this with more volume.

I wont hate if we keep the pick but I'd be relieved to give it up this year.

I think Sarr, Risacher, Williams, Walter, Saluan, Topic are all really exciting and you could add more

think this draft might becoming underrated

Every few years a draft is deemed “weak draft, no top end talent, blah blah blah” and then there’s a couple studs and a few great role players/difference makers taken in hindsight each time.

In drafts that are viewed this way, it seems like a good idea to have a few shots at hitting it big scattered through the draft and this year seems to be shaping up that way. I like our chances of landing some talent.

If we can get into that 4th worst spot, we would be looking good to keep the pick. Also we have some high odds to move up (which we still do in 6th TBH).

If we come out of this draft with a SF/PF, a back up point guard and a stretch 5, that would be ideal.
I'm interested to see what we do with GTJ, Schroeder, Boucher and Brown. I can see us getting another pick or two. Imagine just another mid-first for Brown.

Combo that would make sense (using Ringer draft guide by KOC comparison in brackets):

Risacher (our pick moves up), Ware (Pacers pick), Dunn (Bruce Brown pick), Brazile (Detroit 2nd) and Proctor (OKC 1st).

IQ, Proctor (Shades of Lonzo)
RJ, Dick
Risacher (Shades of MPJ) , Dunn (shades of Herb Jones)
Barnes, Brazile (shades of Boucher)
Yak, Ware (shades of Myles Turner), Jontay Porter

Probably some busts there, but it would be something to dream on. Imagine all those players 'hit' on their comparison potential.
