Getting Doc off ESPN was never going to be cheap or temporary, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bucks have to buy his contract out or something.

I would be shocked if Doc's agent didn't negotiate an out for a head coaching job.

I just realized there is a decent chance Doc Rivers is now a head coach in the All Star Game since the NBA doesn't allow a coach to do it b2b years and Mazzulla did it last season
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

I think it probably goes both ways, I'm sure ESPN/Disney must have insulated themselves from their top color guy they just signed to a multiyear deal leaving in the middle of the his 1st season.

I'd try to get Dave Joerger. Helped Doc last year. Perfect fit. I think he works for the Cavs now, so just have him stay in Milwaukee.

u got him

Very old reference, but I’d look for a Harvey Kuenn effect in that locker room. Guys are just going to be relieved Griff is gone. You’ll see a lot more effort out there.

The addition by subtraction cannot be stressed enough.

I don't know where the Joerger love comes from, as I am very unfamiliar with his acumen, but just got an ESPN notification that he's a candidate to come aboard

One positive with Doc vs. Bud in the playoffs, is that Doc would've insisted that someone other than Holiday guard Butler down the stretch. He would've stepped in and told Holiday to let Wes guard him instead without any hesitation. I think Bud is a great coach, but needed to be more assertive when $%^& hit the fan.

Does anyone actually think those Clippers teams should have won but were held back by a coach? They were good but never “omg I can’t believe they didn’t win a title” good.

Our roster is closer to the Boston teams he had success with. They are more talented than those Clippers teams and have a proven winner lead dog vs a talented head case in Embiid.

What I’m saying is I don’t really give a **** that he didn’t win with those teams. He won when he had the horses and didn’t when he didn’t. Good news is, we have the horses.

I’ll hold major criticism until the end of the season to see if/how much we improve under Doc. I have serious reservations but hopefully I’m wrong. Adding Joerger to the staff and hoping Horst makes a savvy trade could tip things more towards the good rather than the bad. Cavs did this exact same thing with Ty Lue and they won a title, if that happens then obviously all is forgiven lol. We’ll see. Go Bucks!

If you think Doc is a good NBA head coach, but not a great one and you're not necessarily super hyped that the Bucks hired him. That's fine. I have no issue with that.

But I feel like the people who think that Doc is some horrible, awful NBA head coach are the type of people who just go along with the popular narrative and either don't think for themselves because they don't want to or are incapable of thinking for themselves. The type of people who can't distinguish the difference between preconception and reality.

Take yesterday for example, someone said The Sixer's offense is vastly improved this season with Nurse over last season with Doc.

The Sixer's offense last season with Doc was actually better than it currently is with Nurse. And after mid-December, I am pretty sure the Sixers had the best record in the league last season. If not the best it had to be top 3. I remember because I was being super annoyed that the Sixers were on our heels for the #1 seed late in the season because they were in the midst of like a 40-10 stretch that began in December.

With Doc it's perception over reality.

Also, reading some of the comments on the Youtube videos of the Bucks hiring Doc. Every video is basically 3000 different people all saying the same 3 or 4 regurgitated lines verbatim like programed drones.

I've always been a guy who has kind of stuck up for Doc, I think he's a really good NBA head coach. Yeah, his record in closeout games is not that great and I don't think he completely gets a free pass. But if your best players on most of those teams were guys like CP3, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Joel Embiid & Ben Simmons, I am taking that record with a grain of salt.

Looking forward to Doc showing those people that Joel Embiid/Ben Simmons & Giannis/Dame are not the same.

Who would some of you have preferred as an alternative to Doc midseason? Atkinson is the only other name I see thrown around and we don’t even know if GS would have let my us reinterview him.

IMO the three options were:

1. Ride it out with Grief
2. Fire Grief, ride it out with Prunty
3. Fire Grief, hire Doc
