Brunson and Bridges all chummy sitting courtside together at the Nova vs St. Johns game at the Garden.

I believe the Knicks can use Obi's TPE along with a 2nd rounder to get Burks saving Fournier's contract for Brogdon. It's something like 25% difference + $200k so I think that covers Burks, fact check me please.
The only problem is if you give Thibs his binky Burks then he destroys what little value and confidence Grimes has because he will ride Burks every chance he can get vs giving any mins to the kid.

The top 8 seem locked in. 3 teams made huge moves in season. Wonder if the top teams are gonna make moves. Fully expect CLE to do something, maybe not big. ORL might stand pat and think this is just part of the process.

The ESPN trade machine says Obi’s TPE is 6.8 & Burks is 10.5. My understanding was that you can’t combine TPEs (RJ is 5.2).

I didn't say combine, I said within 25%+$200K difference, for some reason I thought it was $9.8mil which is probably my terrible eyes not looking close enough,

Pick laden as the core is locked. So some form of
Grimes + Fournier + Mavs Knicks 24 1sts
Bucks (1-4) pick / unprotected Knicks pick in 26
Swap in 25

I wouldn't bank on that, honestly. Their front office has to look at the team's play since the injuries and decide to built around Spida instead. Spida still makes the most money staying with Cleveland. I don't see the Nets as a signing option (especially after the recent Knicks/Nets game because that emphasizes if you want to play in NY, Brooklyn isn't it) and Miami, well, I think they're not waiting around.
The BKN ain't it fact has been proven time and again but, they got KD/Kyrie. It doesn't matter what CLE wants to do. Miami ALWAYS finds a way. It's not like DM is going anywhere this season. None of your reasons are very valid at all.
Enlighten me. Other than this KD/Kyrie situation, what other marquee (or otherwise for that manner) player signed with Brooklyn over the Knicks? DeAndre Jordan? Nets have always had a better situation than the Knicks in year's past. Be it their roster, cap space, draft picks, or all of the above. That's out the window. Their draft capital is trash, the roster isn't great, and CBA will make throwing all their cap space into 1 max not ideal. Saying it isn't "cool" to play for the Knicks didn't age well for KD. The Nets rep around the league has been thoroughly trashed. Listen to the post game presser if you're on the fence on that because what Miles said and the tone it was said is quite telling.
As for Miami, where's Lillard? We can't say they always find a way when they just missed out on Lillard and Holiday. Rozier is a nice pick-up, but no one was really fighting over him.
Spida is more likely to stay with Cleveland than he isn't when we consider they can pay him the most. I'm sure if they decide to built around him, Garland and Mobley will net them complimentary pieces.
Cleveland is no mans land. If LeBron wasn't from Ohio they STILL wouldn't have a championship. Even HE left his hometown!
We are not talking about choosing BKN over the Knicks. We are talking about Cleveland. Re: 2023-24 NY Knicks trade ideas, Part 3

This is pretty much spot on. If Nets were to consider it it would probably be something in that range. However Nets are sitting on a bunch of picks right now. They are probably waiting to strike on big game hunting on offseason. I doubt they sell on Bridges but who knows?

Re: 2023-24 NY Knicks trade ideas, Part 3
watched a lot of the portland game and the guys we are rumored to be interested in looked pretty good.
jalen green looked like an absolute stud. even had a big time block in the clutch. i don't blame the knicks at all for trying to get him. he's the prototypical scoring 2 guard we could use.
brogdon has a lot left in the tank. i called him washed a while ago but i retract that statement lol
the god ayton looked very good too lol

Could this be the move? Not these details, but get Bridges as the big play. Forget Mitchell or some other superstar move that may never come. Add Bridges and have the kind of blue collar, no superstar team, great defense team like the Billups/Ben Wallace Pistons. Make a run with that group now, and get better next year just by Robinson coming back.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Correct. We don't have equal expiring to trade for him. So we would have to move Fournier which would be bad because we need his contract to acquire a multi year deal so we keep a tradable contract for a star on the team.
Is there a creative way to use the TPE that they have? I forget how those can be used.
no those can't be aggregated in a deal together. Neither can the salary of Precious which is one of the few somewhat bigger contracts we have to match.
So there is really no way to acquire him outside of trading Fournier...but then you lose Fournier contract which would be devastating to going for a superstar next year.
You could trade Achiuwa for someone making 8M+ and then trade that player for someone making up to 15-16M. But the league may come down on us for cap circumvention if we were too brazen about it.

maybe but we need Achiuwa way more than Burks right now, so still doesn't make sense.. We are so thin upfront. As much as getting a shot creation guard would be nice not at the extent of a rotation player at the moment (especially a big). Who knows with this recent iHart injury....plus Mitch is still an unknown for later in the year.
