Deck chair trade more likely.

I believe there is real interest in making a move to address the lack of a true starting point guard, but making impact in season trades are risky and this team is super risk-averse. I think Fultz, Harris, Okeke and some 2nd round picks are on the table and they'll dangle those until the deadline to see what they can get. My bet is the Wizards are going to hold a bidding war over Tyus Jones and they'll sell to the team with the best offer. Not certain it'll be us, but also wouldn't be shocked if it is.

I think that, most likely, there will be no trades by the Magic. I don't see any of the stop-gap players available that will add to the team.

If the Magic do add, I think it will be for a long-term solution like Murray. I doubt that the Magic will pay top dollar, as I don't think that the FO sees this year as a do-or-die year.

I think the logic in clearing out Okeke to free PT for Jett makes a lot of sense.

Just play Jett? Chuma as 15 man is good. I don’t think Chuma is in the way of Jett.

He's been getting the minutes though

Does this Front office ever make big trades?

They want Jett to develop more before he gets real minutes. Chuma isn’t why he isn’t playing.

I think Fultz and Harris are on the table for short term guys like Lowry or Tyus if those teams bite on those pieces plus a 2nd round pick. Otherwise we hold tight and preserve cap flexibility for the offseason.

With this team, I learned how to curb my enthusiasm. That said, my PG aspirations is to acquire a vet PG who can get the guys in the right positions to be effective on offense, be reliable and be the difference maker the Magic needs. Not too big that may risk the chemistry of the team. Just the right trade to make the case for a good playoff run for this young Magic team.

The players kind of forced to blow up the team. I bet they’d love to evaluate a few more seasons with Vuc, Gordon, Fournier as our core.
Our lazy af FO won’t do anything this year, as always, despite maybe something like Okeke for a 2nd, just to give the impression they haven’t slept all season.

this for Weltman would be 9.0–9.9 Richter scale move

We somehow acquire some washed veteran and pay him an exorbitant amount of money to be injured and never play.

That sounds like Orlando's perfect deadline.

You never know but I don't think we'll start seeing heavy trades until next year.
This year is likely about figuring out who is who and what all works best together.
And cross your fingers for a couple playoff wins.

Weltman, to the best of my knowledge, has never executed a "buying" trade in his NBA career as a head decision maker.

Everything has been a selling trade/reclamation project deal.

I think its a good sign. It means he has discipline and ability to self-limit. Most mediocre gms would use those assets long time ago. Weltman has his problems but not spending assets is not one of them. He will make a move and then we can judge it. Right now he is propably looking at some bigger trades possibilities and trying to not pay frp for Brogdon, Jones. I think thats a good strategy.
