Not sure. I think he left himself no choice but to hire Doc even though it goes completely against what he said he was looking for when he fired Bud.

It better work out because Horst doesn’t deserve to get another coaching hire wrong. He’s already fortunate enough that Giannis is copping all the blame for wanting Griffin when it was his extensive search that put him in the top 3.

He's only really gotten one hire wrong. Bud was absolutely the right hire back in 2018, especially when coming off the stench of the Kidd era. The team went from a 7th seed that lost in the first round to the #1 seed and a win away from a Finals berth, mind you, with a lot of the same dudes.
He botched the Griffin hire and had to pivot. You can argue that Doc isn't the right guy - and I personally am not a fan of his - but it was the right move to can Griffin. If he gets Doc wrong, I'm not canning Horst over it. It's hard to find a quality coach mid-season, and frankly, I get why they'd rather try to make it work with Doc versus riding it out with Prunty.
I just hope that they'll be as aggressive with respect to Doc as they've been with Griffin. If Doc doesn't get it done, pivot and move on.

The top end talent is crazy dominant and naturally complementary. Just go with it, that's all. Do the simple, obvious things well and nobody will be able to do a damn thing about it.

Some are a bit diplomatic and they don't say it clearly but that's what they imply. Rivers is going to be our coach for 2-3 seasons at least, let's hope we don't waste the Giannis/Dame/Khris trio

Just remember that a lot of them also think it was a mistake to fire Griffin.

2. Far higher percentage of halfcourt possessions beginning with GA screening for Dame
3. GA and Lopez camping in the post on defense to get back to an elite defensive rebounding and paint defensive team
Let’s turn our 2nd ranked offense into by far the best in the league and get our defense at least up to league average.
Lowe called out that the Bucks could go from 22nd Drtg to 17-18 based solely on just getting back in transition. So as long as the players don’t hate Doc, that’s basically a given.

Transition defense should be an immediate fix because it only requires hustle and not going for "steals" that will literally never happen. Watching that **** all year has been infuriating.
