We need to figure out our guard situation before this season comes completely off the rails. Doing nothing of significance at the deadline is complete managerial malpractice. We have too much money and draft capital invested into our collection of PGs and SGs for the production we are getting. Suggs with his elite defense and hit or miss offense is not enough to make up all of the injuries, weaknesses and inexperience we are bogged down with.
It’s blowing my mind that so few see how that played right into their hands. 4.5 seconds, down by a point and you have Joe Ingles shooting a 3 to win? Ask Memphis what they wanted to see. That’s exactly it. Any idea why Joe was quarantined? “They can’t be dumb enough to take that bait, right??” Oh, hell yeah we are. And then we have fans lauding the play.
And the season is off the rails, dude. 7-15 against a pretty weak schedule. This roster is a **** mess. It makes no sense and never did.
That is some galaxy brain take right there.
"Ha you have fallen into my trap Orlando! I wanted you to pass to a wide open 41% 3 point shooter. I knew that the ball would nearly go in and lose me the game! It was all part of my foolproof plan!"
It ain't that deep. Ingles' man got scared of Paolo driving and gave up a great look to defend against a worse look at a game winner.
41% is not as impressive as you think when you consider he’s shooting less than 3 per game and was 0-4 tonight. We’re not talking about a high volume shooter here. And yes, if you’re Memphis, up by 1 with guys like Paolo and Franz on the floor, a long Ingles 3 is a good outcome. Ingles was ice cold and had no business even being on the floor.
