And in no position to draft an elite scorer with a high pick. This reminds me of why I so pissed on draft day.

We had so much trade power and failed to help the team. Black sucks and coach hates Jett.

Its true Black sucks, he might be decent in a few years but right now he can't shoot, can't handle the ball and can't drive so he's basically worthless on offense but oh "he's a 7'3" pg and can play d". Jett is a scrub, small for his position plus slow so he can't stay in front of his player and in a real game can't make a 3 even though that's his calling. 2 wasted high lotto picks...

Who did you want bro? Kuminga ? Booknight? Jabari Smith?

None of those players are scoring or carrying a team. Jett obviously can’t do anything if Caleb Houstan is beating him out for minutes.

Orlando didn’t have assets to make a trade for a top 10-15 player in the last few years. Assets didn’t exist.

I wanted to package those 2 picks with players for a starter. I didn't need a top 15 player in return.

Lot of players are slow but successful because they have a good handle. Your opinion on Jett might be true but it's still too early to tell. I'm not opposed to the idea that we wasted 2 picks. I'm pretty sure we did... just hope it's not a total loss.

You can't trade Franz. It's the lack of perimeter scorer at the guard positions that is killing the team. The Paolo iso's starting from 25 ft out won't work long term. He and Franz are not Lebron/Luka. They are more Tatum/Randle types. They feed off of being secondary playmakers. If this team had Jrue/Derrick White as their backcourt, they'd be top 3 record-wise in the East.

This FO needs to get serious, this team is not it. I am going to scream if we dont make a trade. Man if it wasnt for that 9 game winning streak, we'd be far below .500. Im done evaluating

Super pathetic loss. I dont want to hear **** about strength of schedule if we cant beat the Grizzlies missing half of their best players.

Our guard play is worst in the league. Id trade every one of guards besides Suggs.

Today wouldve been a good day to play Goga I think. Even though Wendell had a good field game, he was getting dominated by JJJ. Thats where Wendell kinda hurts, hes strong but a bit undersized. I woildve liked a bigger body on him like Goga. Some more JI wouldve been good too.

That ATO at the end was bad too, I never thought that shot had a chance. I wouldve preferred Paolo to get to his midrange.

Also is it just me or some of our most depressing losses throughout the years were vs. Grizzlies??

If we are playing a good defensive team, we are cooked unless we miraculously get hot from 3.
Play Jase or Trade for Alvarado

Few things:
- SOUL, we liked more each other's posts in past 3 months than in past 8 years combined
- to your point, modern league requires potent offensive guards to be funcional, that doesn't mean we should get first chucker out there ( Poole  ) but we have situation where all out guards are very limited offensive players in one way or another
- Black 27 min, 1 point, 1 assits, 5 fouls as good reminder he can't be starter any time soon
- We haven't scored 110 or more points in last 10 games
- we have 9-17 record since winning 9 games straight
- post 9 wins streak, we have 35% win rate, that's up there with Raptors season numbers (16-29)
- we lost 7 of last 9 games
- in past 10 games we have 4th worst offense ( very close to Heat and 3rd worst)

- oh and Memphis beat us while missing 7 players including almost whole starting 5 but JJ (and two all-star level players)

Making direct playoffs today looks like unrealistic scenario if no trades will be made, or if our "big trade" is some sort of second round picks flip.

Some of us expected .500 season, and that's fine, but it's different feeling going from 14-5 to .500 record than being .500 whole season long.

Make a damn trades. What's the purpose of draft picks & assets if they can't play and you are wasting cheap years of Franz and Paolo on teams that are not funcional?

Kinda sad it looks like Markelle has some focal dystonia going on again I mean he’s been decent there for a few seasons but this year after the injury he’s looked eh.

Didn't watch the game, a sound decision in hindsight. Probably not gonna watch many of them unless we have basketball players next to Franz and Paolo.

What happened to Suggs?

First i must say i am proud of Paolo. He made a right decision. 4.5 seconds and we had open 3 for our best shooter. Propably best look of the whole game.

Our offense is dysfunctional. No one can create quality looks. Every game will be a slog. We propably wont make playoffs if we dont get a guard or even better two guards. Fultz and Anthony should be out of roster asap. One third of our players are so anxious they cant even catch a ball. Black should work on his offense in the gleague.
We can keep it this way and propably be in the lottery or get a guard who understands nba offense better than 10 year old. I will be frustrated but accept the first one i will be happy with the second option

I wanted us to trade 6 and players on draft day. Im on record. Start the consolidation asap, after seeing how well Franz, Paolo and Jalen did after the ASB 2023.

But no.

We've wasted a full year to end up back where we essentially were. .500-ish team with massive skill overlaps, big holes in certain role requirements, some very limited players, many injury-riddled players and overall too many players on the roster, messing up lineups.

We need to take some swings. Not necessarily at stars, but at ascending players with skills we need. No more reclamation projects. No more grandads. No more hustle guys.

If we "overpay", who cares? Give a 1st rounder for expiring Monk or someone similar. If we're such an amazing destination for players now , as Weltman has been spouting for 5 years solid, surely Monk will stick around and reup. We can tap up his agent ahead of time, like EVERYONE else already does.

Stip nitpicking and fussing and dithering. Stop putting exaggerated and arbitrary values on our "assets" (if they have any value left after Weltman has squandered it).

We need to switch mentality in the FO. We are buyers. We have a need. Stop acting like you're somehow the market-making seller and be the decisive buyer. Weigh up the benefit of being cautious and value-driven versus being proactive and performance-driven.

Box score thoughts:

Orlndo won the FG% battle (but not really as they got hosed in eFG%) and lost the game.

Frankly there is only one stat in this game that matters: 9-34. The 26.5% three-ball shooting line on high vlumne is just gross.
A 10-34 threeball line (i.e. a 29% three ball), and Oralndo wins.

I can't take this anymore !!!!

Anyhow, to the other stats.

Good FT line with OK percentage.
Low foul rate was nice.
Nice, low TO line and a good win in TO differential.

Fudge it, I don't care about the numerous positives. The one negative is driving me crazy. WeltPark: go find two shooters. Right now!

Haha. I posted it here first and then realised it should have gone in the other one!

Yeah, I didnt see the value in #6 for Orl (with all the youth we have) vs the value it would have for other teams. I would have shipped out Fultz, Harris and/or WCJ in a big trade for a v good player or 2 trades for 2 good'uns. Would have put Den25 on the table too. Im on record, as are several others.

Orl would still have had #11 to trade or draft a player.

Like most, we didn't want to draft 2 players, I just wanted a shooter and I liked Jett.
Not a fan of black

But the goal was playin and we ll make the playin (at least).
