What else Bobby needs to do to get fired?
Bobby committed blunders in Thad trade, Poetl trade and Siakam trade. Each of those trades set the Raptors back big time. The Siakam trade in particular has made Raptors butt of joke of how Pacers screwed them (no young player with upside + no high draft picks for an All-NBA level player). But he still has the GM job. What else he needs to do to get fired?

Masai and Bobby are a package deal.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

I'm frustrated as much as anyone but Bobby will def get a crack at rebuilding this team. We are hitting rock bottom currently so any big missteps in the process now will probably cost him his job.

Some team please take him like Weltman (who is doing pretty well with Orlando).

Masai admitted to being the driving force of that Poeltl trade.
Masai should get the axe.

masai has always depended on better basketball minds while he managed ego and marketing and whatnot. Dwayne Casey gave him pound the rock era, which created the derozan and Lowry duo. Nurse made the chip possible. Now he's relying on... darko and jama?
Need new blood infusion in the front office.

He should be close to getting fired.
From what I hear the Blue Jays are also in a dire situation. Why are all of our teams going to sh*t all of a sudden?

Re: What else Bobby needs to do to get fired?
Thad for a frp.., no one taken in the draft after the spurs pick has set the world on fire. He also couldn't see the Koloko health issues, which is the guy we wanted anyway. We would have taken him in the first.
Poetl, how about you wait and see on the pick... hopefully the Spurs get it this year. Poetl is a good player and the 2024 draft is a crap shoot, even in the lottery.
The Siakam trade was fine.
I don't believe there was anything better out there, Kings weren't giving up a kid either and there isn't a single body on the Hawks I would have wanted. The Pacers kids aren't anything more than draft picks at this point and already into their rookie scale.
This fanbase seems to pick and choose when one of our players is trash or a bonafide superstar, almost depending on the hour. They also think you can just snap your fingers and get everything you want. You can only get what someone will give you. There are also 1yr, 2yr, 3yr plans... so howabout we see where this thing goes.

The Blue Jays had one of the best executives in baseball and fired him so they could hire one of the worst executives in baseball. They're in this position because they literally, intentionally put themselves in this position.

Exactly. In his press conference he clarified that it was his decision, not a team decision. I actually feel Bobby and Dan might have been the voices of reason that day but Masai overruled them due to his attachment to the players.
People need to stop pointing the finger at Bobby. Bobby is just a glorified executive assistant. If you want change, Masai needs to go.
Having said that, I don't want to fire Masai. I feel he's the ideal executive to get us through a rebuild since he actually knows how to draft.

Re: What else Bobby needs to do to get fired?
Og and siakam are thriving while we go through the growing pains our own FO put us in!
It’s just been a super fast decline since 2019. Cavs were able to bounce back after losing lebron, got themselves a solid roster when fully healthy. Let’s see if we can add a shooter like Strus and a Center like Allen in the near future, and we should be good.
Imagine a line up of Quickley, Strus, Rj, Barnes, Allen

I don't think it's Bobby but Masai got played by Fred, Nurse, and several of these guys. He gave them a lot of opportunity and chances to prove themselves but they couldn't. He started the rebuild way too late. The key now is to tank and turn Poeltl into low overhead assets like future picks. We get a top 6 pick, then we use the Pacers pick and OKC pick, along with our flexibility or young piece like RJ to buy a starter or core player.

Definitely needed a new thread to discuss the same "fire the FO" topic that's in every other thread lol.

That’s an exceptionally mediocre lineup. lol.
Some people are upset we got Poeltl and you’re suggesting we get a better but still limited center. What’s the point? lol.

Re: What else Bobby needs to do to get fired?
Looking back on it now it was a long run. From that season when Demar and Kyle took ownership of the team and then passed it off to Fred, Pascal, and OG.
The most frustrating thing about it though was that we might have been a move or two away from bridging the next phase without needing a tear down if not for a mistake here and there. What if we took Bane instead of Flynn? What if we kept Norm instead of trading for GTJ? What if we didn't trade down for Thad and taken Kessler? What's done is done though and we'll never know, but there will always be that what if.

I wish it was a super fast decline. It's been a slog.

Re: What else Bobby needs to do to get fired?
I'm actually really curious what Masai would do if we still suck in 2 or 3 years and we whiff on those picks. Whether we trade them or draft players. If they miss with those, I could see them being on the hot seat.
Does he go down with Bobby or get rid of him to give himself some more time.

Re: What else Bobby needs to do to get fired?
Well we hit the reset button with the Pascal trade so I’d say our front office has 2 more years to turn things around.
