Because chemistry doesn’t mean anything if you don’t have the horses.

I’m leaning towards “break up the chemistry” what’s it doing for us, honestly?

Murray is a legit hard guy with an edge…I think Paolo is too, but made to feel comfy in ORL. Murray plays the right position, has the right numbers and is clearly positioned in the store window. He couldn’t be more available. If LA gets him for a couple of crappy picks and basically filler :banghead:

He’s Matt Barnes with all-star talent. Don’t be afraid of what he brings to our chemistry. I like Cole but, with all respect, when he says “he got that dawg in him” …I’m just not giving it the same level of credibility. Murray and Suggs would be two emotionally charged angry defenders with the skill to pull it off.

They're obviously going to get stuff done...

I think people here freak out too quickly here... This isn't a situation where the team stood pat for 3-4 years with no changes.

They're only a year and a half removed from drafting Paolo. They're technically right where they're supposed to be record wise as a young team given that improbable hot start they had.

I'm just going to enjoy watching the growing pains of an up and coming team.

Orlando just missed 25 three-pointers to lose to one of the worst rosters in the league. No: we are not freaking out "too quickly". This is not new news.

This roster needs shooters. This is a venting thread after all.

I don’t think people are necessarily upset that the Magic are losing games this early in their development.

The issue for me is that Weltman has never shown the ability to tangibly be a buyer and the longer he waits, the less assets he’ll ultimately have at his disposal.

Maybe nobody wants expiring contracts, but to go into this summer with Fultz and Harris and Okeke just coming off the books. That’s $35M you could have used, ya know? And once you get to the summer, you gotta replace that money to hit the salary floor, so then what? Are you resigning incumbent veterans? Overpaying another guy like Ingles on a short deal? Splashing the pot like Houston did and giving out near max deals to guys probably not worth it?

Franz and Suggs are getting extended before the start of next season. The clock is ultimately ticking on this cap space and cap flexibility and the front office ultimately seems non-plussed by that fact.

It’s really easy to tear something down.

It’s relatively easy (with semi good fortune in the lotto) to start building it back up.

It’s not that easy to actually really make tangible progress in a build up if you’re too nervous to move chips to the middle of the table.

The Florida AM kid is a free-agent. Evins Desir aka "Big E" has a lethal outside shot!

p.s. He is a load more than his listed 340 lbs. That much I am sure of!

EP was legit good his rookie year which is what people always forget, good defender and found open guys. It's the fact that he didn't improve that got people disappointed.

AB has yet to really show any pure PG skills. Shaky handle and not enough wiggle to take people off the dribble consistently.

What chemistry? We broke that once people who have no business on that court were taking 20+ minutes per game.

He gambled a lot for steals and that got corrected as he matured, but he was never able to navigate around screen to save his life. Not in Magic, or Suns or Knicks jersey. He could rebound, handle the ball and finish close to the rim.

Orlando needs one starter guard that shoots a 40% three ball on at least 4 attempts per game AND one backup guard that is also a consistent 40% three-ball (and no, G-Harris does not qualify in this discussion, at all!).

If I read: Fultz, Anthony and Black are all traded for .... (fill in blank), I would be quite OK with that so long as shooters were acquired.

My mental health cannot continue to take this crap.

the Magic have a combo guard in the G League right now who's fifth in the league in scoring at nearly 25ppg, averaging 7.4 apg, and shooting 40.7% from 3 on 6 att/g. Time to bring him up and see if he can provide a scoring spark off the bench.

I am at the point where I would LOVE to see McClung take Cole’s minutes.

Using ESPN BPI as a power ranking has us 10th in the East. Not ideal.

People keep living in fantasy land where we’ll make the top 6… not as currently constructed. We have no chance after Indy and NYK made their trades.

It has our top 6 probability at 12.5% now.

Yeah, if we miraculously turn it around ANd one of NYK or Indy has injury issues the rest of the way. That’s the only way as currently constructed IMO.

BPI has never really believed in us, and turns out it's been right to doubt our first quarter play.

- We are too young, our core players are under 23 years old
- We have a legit top 10 defense
- Lack of 3 point shooting is killing our offense

Edit: damn, BPI is a bit of a hater and has us as the 11th best defense.

The weakness of the team is clear as day. I imagine there is urgency to fix it on the front office side. I also think it's important they don't waste assets simply for a quick fix. I believe the hard choice is going to be how much do they give up at the deadline to address the weaknesses vs holding steady to keep their powder dry for the off-season if someone more enticing comes available (ie. Anfernee Simons or Trae Young).

I think we may have missed on simons even though he may not have been available, he most definitely not available now.... Sitting on our hands "evaluating" may make us miss out on players that could help us really shore up our weaknesses.....we may be taking this magic "family" thing a little far
