Ivey needs to get more touches. He would help cade a lot, but for whatever reason it doesn't happen.

Ivey and Sasser make sense off the bench. No more Kilian. Ivey with the ball, and Sasser as shooting guard. But Sasser can guard the point guards. I think Cade's game would improve with Monte starting alongside.

I don't think this team will ever make it out of the gutter as long as they keep playing Cade like a superstar 30%+ usage guy

I don't see that as his role on a good team, we need to keep moving the ball

I'm sure a decent coach could strike a better balance, but it's no surprise that the ball movement drops and turnovers skyrocket again once Cade comes back. Suddenly we need him to have some crazy individual scoring game to have a chance to win against the other worst team in the league again. If he doesn't have an incredible game we basically have no chance.

The heliocentric stuff is such a scam. There are a handful of guys in the league that can pull that off. Cade isn't one of them.

If Monty used the same criteria with Cade that he uses with Ausar and Ivey, we'd see him benched for half of the games this year. That's a fact.

Just finished watching the game

There was way more ball movement when Cade was out. I was thinking Monty would have learned to utilize Ivey more but I should have known it takes him about 3 weeks to register anything. Soon as Cade came back, Ivey back in the corner.

We really might have a coaching problem!

He's a Power Forward, about as prototypical as you'll see in today's game. You labeling that a Stretch 4 requires him to be some knock down shooter from 3, and clearly he's not.

Farbeit for me to be the one to back the merits of the guy, but if a guy was a knock down shooter, played great D and very efficient on offense, why is he taking the Pistons money? To take it further, who even is that guy? Cam Johnson? Well HE didn't take your money and you had hired his coach.

You called him a stretch 4. I was replying to that. I think if you have a mix of good shooters and defenders at the 1-3 and 5, Kuzma is an acceptable 4, but if you're the Pistons, you need a GREAT shooting 4. Ideally, you need them to be a solid defender. That's just where the team is at. We have a 5 that doesn't shoot. We have a backcourt that is below average as shooters. Our promising young 3 shoots 15% from 3.
That's what posters clamoring for it calls it. I was speaking to that. That term is so watered down and doesn't even have a real definition to me anymore, so there's that.

Game was close but we blew it big time down the stretch. Got some tickets for 1/3 rd of face value this morning and took my 7 year old daughter to her 2nd Pistons game. We're 0-2. Probably done going to games this year maybe I'll take her back next year.

Cade and Ivey combo has no synergy. We need a guy next to Cade who can shoot and defend. Ivey is a on ball slasher its just not the right archetype to partner with Cade.

I'd like to see us get aggressive and grab D.Murrray. Murray isnt ideal with T.Young and really isnt the perfect fit due to being better on ball as well. That said he can shoot the 3ball and pre Atl he was All NBA defense. I think with us he can have the ball more then he does with Trae(Traes alot better then Cade currently) and it will at least show allow Cade to play up to his potential.

When I saw us put Killian in when we were down by a few with 6 minutes left I said to myself: okay- so we’re not serious about winning this game?

Killian needs to be traded so that Monty can’t play him. Doesn’t matter what we do or don’t get for him. His absence would be an integral midseason acquisition.

To be clear- this team still has a TON of issues besides Killian. But we’ve still got 4 guards better than Killian. There’s no excuse for this.

It seems plainly obvious that Ivey should be the lead guard and Cade off-ball - both have succeeded in those roles at different points this season. Why can't the man with the $78M contract also see that?
