What are the offers that you guys would give up? I feel like you guys are not being realistic with your wants and willingness to give up.

In the last 7 games, Tyus Jones had 68 assists and 3 Turnovers. Dude is undersized of course but Jones has averaged 12.4 ppg and 50% FG% plus 41.4 3pt FG%. He could be a big upgrade for us if we can not get into the sweepstakes of Dejounte Murray, who is "destined" to go to LA Lakers.
Tyus is 27 years old and Washington is his second stop after Memphis. He could blend in very well with our young core, specifically Franz and Paolo with his shooting and assist numbers. I could see him being a very good floor partner with Jalen Suggs.
His base salary is 14M and he will be an UFA in 2024
I definitely think we should go after him and entertain our offers. But what does it take? I hope we do not ship out any FRPs
We got den frp and useless Hampton for AG who had 1,5years on his contract. I cant imagine we give den frp for 0,5 years of jones. Fultz, two seconds and a shake of hands. Wizards have more shooters. If what people wrote is true Fultz should be better on wizards than Jones
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

If you think dejounte will fit with our core players, you meet Atlanta s Price
Fultz (exp) + Houstan (young player) + 2024 orl Frp (we don't need it as Jett is our 2024 Frp) + Den 1st + FRP swap (2025) + a few SRP if needed
Or
Harris (exp) + chuma (young player) + 2024 orl Frp (we don't need it as Jett is our 2024 Frp) + Den 1st + FRP swap (2025) + a few SRP if needed
Suggs, AB, Tyus, Jase

That's not even close to what it would take. Even as someone who used to love Markelle, I can't say he has that value. His injury has derailed his career.

they are asking for 2 FRP
and you are giving them:
2 FRP
1 FRP swap
few SRP
a young Player
This is more than what LAL is willing to trade

Here’s a tip…
When you see Markelle in a trade, the idea is that he’s a $17m expiring contract. Most trades are not actual “my guy for your guy”…expiring contract is a vehicle for the picks to be traded. I’m amazed how many fans say “but we don’t need Markelle” as if he’s the prize here

Yes, but only Tyus for draft compensation and Markelle.

I'm with you. I'm also interested in D'Angelo and Brogdon.MagicMatic wrote:Yes, but only Tyus for draft compensation and Markelle.

I think for Tyus people are going to be really disappointed. He's a bench guy who is starting on arguably the worst team in the NBA.

Did you not watch him fill in for Ja over the last few years? People were legitimately asking if the Grizzlies were better off without Ja…
Tyus isn’t a savior but he is a legit NBA PG.

Same for Russell. People see his hot shooting streaks and think yeah he be a good fit. He gets there and doesn’t move the needle at all.

Yeah, we don’t have the assets for an allstar.
Getting a young up and comer that has proven he can run an offense is within the realm of possibility.

Los Angeles had reportedly offered Russell, a 2029 first-round pick and a future first-round pick swap as the base of a package for Murray. But any deal was contingent on finding a third team to take Russell.

The Magic can easily beat this trash offer without including Suggs, Black, Paolo, Franz.... if they wanted to

Yeah...I really don't understand why we wouldn't just send two legit firsts and expirings and call it a huge win.

I'd make it ORL 24 frp, a future frp swap and Den pick...if they added AJ Griffin
Fultz, Harris, ORL 24, DEN 25, ORL 26 swap (or 2 srps if they prefer...s**t, they can have 5 srps for all I care)
Murray, Griffin
book it. Defense is much better. Offense is much better. Still lots of cap space to potentially make available for further moves this summer...Isaac? Ingles? Chuma...I think we could make a run at Claxton.

That Memphis team a few years back had a very deep roster and had an elite bench. Tyus was part of it.
Also, you might want to check the stats while he was starting. He was averaging close to what he is averaging now. There is clearly a ceiling he has as a player.

I know. I'm not disillusioned thinking he'll be a long time starter. He's a bench PG... we don't have one of those either...

He's 27 years old... and has been a bench player for all 9 years of his career.

I mean Cole Anthony is essentially a younger version of him minus the passing. Also there is Anthony Black... The Magic are fine at the backup guard slot given how elite they are. They need an actual starting caliber PG.

I really question Murray’s fit here. Better than what the magic currently have but he can’t shoot the three.
