You know you’re a great team when you sleep walk through like half the game and still win anyways

I can't even praise Jaylen without *somebody* getting angry about it.

Might be our first comeback from double digit deficit in the 4th. Could be wrong. Memory of a fish here.

Sorry. I think that is horrible offense. Nobody touching the ball until 7 seconds left. That's how they implode in the playoffs in close games. People just standing around. I'm praying KP changes that.

What do you think teams do up 5 with less than a minute left lmao

Are you pretending that's not every play they do when the game is tight. It's ISO Tatum over and over and it hasn't worked in the games that are 1 or two possesions. 100% is a garbage Tatum step back of he didn't pass to Jaylen cuz all he did was dribble over half the clock and zero people moved.

If this team's success hinges on Porzingis' health, they're screwed.

Of course it does. What a ridiculous comment.

It’s the exact same as when we had KG.

Do you expect contenders to just be able to win titles when a key guy goes down? Health matters.

How is it ridiculous? If this team can't find a way to win without KP, I don't know what to tell you. They've gotten to the Finals without him in the past, so I don't know why they can't do it again.

And no, it's NOT the exact same when we lost KG in '09. KG's impact >>>> KP's.

This is a different season. Teams have improved. The Celtics traded away depth to get Porzingis.

Any elite team will struggle to win a title losing one of their best players.

KG was a better player than Porzingis but Porzingis is massively important defensively and offensively just like KG was.

If the Bucks lose Lopez they’re in massive trouble. If the Nuggets lose Murray or Gordon they’re in trouble. If the Clippers lose Kawhi or PG they’re in trouble.

Expecting elite teams to just be fine without a key piece is fantasy land stuff.

That’s a ridiculous oversimplification. He waited until the second defender helped just enough to set up an open shot.

I guess we don't suck and we don't have to blow the team up and fire the coach after all.

Championship teams find a way to win. Losing KP should not be an insurmountable loss that this team should just roll up and die when it happens. KP getting injured is just an inevitability.

Is not though. All Joe runs is Tatum top of key which is incredibly predictable. Dude has 5 great starters runs the same play well over 50% of the time in crunch time.

same thing jb did to draw the 2nd defender, cj, but he was chastised too. it was working or we would have tried something else (hopefully).

Wrong.

Championship teams always end up being the healthiest teams at the point end of the season.

Do you expect us to have 2018 Warriors like depth or something lol?

So it's predictable. So what? What is the other team going to do? I'll tell you what they'll do. They send a double team, which means we play 4 on 3 and one pass puts the defense into rotation. That worked poorly in 2023 and 2022 because we didn't have enough scorers. Those scoring opportunities died when the ball got to Smart or Grant. Hopefully we survive playing 4-3 this season, but Tatum ISO that consistently creates huge advantages isn't the problem.

we have tho. aren't we now something like 11-3 without KP? it's okay, we all get frustrated with poor play at times.
