The Magic opened with a great first half. Then they blew it in the 3rd, kept it close in the 4th and they have a situation where they have two fouls and The Mavs get 4 FTs and the ball. That really cost them.

Then again, so many twists and turns. The loss is the thing that hurts the most though. Basketball is 48 Minutes.

Game was lost after one of the worst 3rd quarters in franchise history. Complete disaster. Just giving games away thru stupidity and fear.

I said they blew it in the 3rd.

4-for-20: Orlando’s third-quarter shooting

As a Homer-fan, I am sad that the Magic lost a 16 point lead (especially on FT disparity, of all things). But: the glass is half full here. Orlando played a better team on the road to a near victory.

In Vegas terms, as Orlando covered its spread, clearly the Magic played well in this road game.

All road games are tough!

Spoiler:
p.s. I am super impressed that the coach and the players have decided to swallow their views on ref's bias in this game; it's just not worth the fine !

43 is the most free throws Dallas has attempted in any game so far this season. They shot them well, making 32.

It will be hilarious when Isaac, after all this crap, just leaves for some Lakers/Dallas/ Clippers.

OK, but the failures of Dwights years were much more enjoyable that what followed next. When Cleveland destroyed us a week ago, i didnt think - fine, but if they dont win the title, they are a failure, lol. For fans, wining games is what is supposed to bring joy, the more, the better, and if you want to call a second round exit and a 20 win season with the same term, fine, but that means there is no need for you to watch any game, bar the finals i guess.

Good riddance. I bet everyone here will feel better not having to hope for him to have some kind of impact. Even this season, when he is relatively "healthy" he has played less minutes than Gary Harris. or Caleb Houstan for that matter. And of course has scored less than them, so one-way stop gap 15 minutes per game defensive player can get a job in this league, but he cant be your main hope for winning a game.

I haven't gone back through the thread so apologies if this has already been discussed.

They are ramping Isaac up, which will include playing limited minutes on a back to back to avoid the risk of fatigue based re-injury. This, in isolation, is fine and is not JI's fault. A discussion about his long-term availability and worthiness of a new contract is a different conversation (and one that is worth having, IMO).

But wtf is Mosley thinking putting a player limited to 8 minutes into the starting lineup? It's moronic! It makes the starting 5 have to build in-game rhythm twice with two separate lineups, different attributes and different spacing. Surprise surprise, we then get absolutely tanked in the third quarter when the starting 5 changes and they struggle to adjust.

This loss is on Mosley, IMO.

Can’t let Hardaway hang 36 while also having a complete 3Q meltdown.

It's a real shame we wasted a rare really good offensive performance - even with the horrible 3rd quarter we had a 130 ORTG for the game. Obviously being on the second half of a back to back is tough but still the team needs to be better. And Isaac playing only 8 minutes is so disappointing, we looked dominant when he played and he had Doncic in his pocket.

Ingles' decline lately is a major issue not mentioned much. His net rating has plummetted, his passing isn't as sharp as it used to be and he looks even slower than before and struggles more on D. The result of this and Cole's continued slump is that the bench has been a mess without Isaac propping it up with his defensive dominance.

Also, can we please find another play-by-play guy to prepare for Steele's successor instead of Dante? Dante is so bad and over the top positive to an absurd degree. Wendell grabbed an offensive board and he immediately said "Nice putback" before the ball had even left Wendell's handss. Wendell ended up missing the layup by a mile.

I think Orlando is the only organization that would allow him to miss this much. Other organizations seem to let their players come back way earlier. For example, I can’t believe Mobley only missed 6 weeks. If he was in Orlando, at least 3 months if not shutting him down for the season. But Orlando really is cautious with players.

Rough loss. Good morning Orlando fans.

Lots of reasons to reflect on why we lost this one. Can I just say "Luka is an amazing player" and leave it at that?

It sounds like Mosley was playing a chess match against Luka and then took a piece off the board at halftime.

I’m starting to detest Isaac. Hope this guy is gone as soon as his contract is up.

Weltman and co. Need to make some actual **** decisions for once without players making the decision for him.

it's more on the FO at this point. If he's in and Orlando uniform for next year then we aren't a serious basketball organization.

Yup let him go. He will never be healthy and able to play big minutes. He's a great defender with no offensive game. Doesn't even shoot 30% from 3. So what you have a defensive specialist who will miss about 30 games a year best case scenario. Let him walk

I maintain, this is the worst officiating I've seen in the league since the mid-2000s. So hard to overcome that free throw disparity. For such soft contact. It's very frustrating to watch Franz and Paolo constantly bumped with no whistle, and somehow Luka and THJ just get calls for phantom whistles. Not sure what to make of it. It's not isolated to the Magic. It's been a league-wide issue all season. But, it's very hard for the players to even know what they're allowed to do on defense.

I've never seen a double foul call on 1 possession resulting in 4 free throws and the ball. Being up 1 with that call that late in the game, felt like the effective end of it. Refs took that one from us.

Can't say we played bad. We've had some really devastating losses this year, but those are the breaks of a young team. I'd rather that than getting blown out nightly. The Magic will learn to work the edges of those games to close more of them as they grow as a unit.

Not sure what to make of Mosely starting Isaac and just never seeing Isaac again. Very weird choice. I was very excited to see JI in the starting lineup as a defensive tactic and as a sign that we're ready to see more of Isaac. But, much like JI's whole career, the rug was pulled out from under us.

I continue to really love Anthony Black's game. If he ever comes around with his shooting, look out!
