Celts Hold On, Mace The Pace! Victory Cigar vs IND 1/30

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Wed Jan 31, 2024 3:06 am

Holy crap you guys that got really stressful! So glad we won! Celtics baby!!

Tatum and White and Jaylen and Jrue and Sam and KP! And shout out to Queta for big minutes when the game became a grind in the 2nd half.

Dang, that team is annoying to play against! Celtics were scoring at will in the 1st half and had 81 points and a comfortable lead at intermission. But then somehow the Pacers erased it all in the time it took me to blow my damn nose and we basically had to start from scratch lol.

Thankfully the C's hung tough, made winning plays down the stretch, and came away with a big win on the back to back!

Lakers Thursday, Go C's!

Ugly win but you’ll take it on a B2B.

Tatum takes the cigar, White takes the CP while Brown takes the bronze.

Nice game, not sure if we win it if Haliburton had kept playing. Third-quarter lulls are part of this team's ID now, whether we like it or not.

Tatum and White for the puffs.

Time to blow the Lakers to smithereens.

Went with Tatum and White because of the blocks in the final minutes.

Stating the obvious but Indy is a tough one. Not a stretch to feel this would have been a loss if Hali wasn’t on restricted minutes.

Either way, happy the 2nd half was a gritty & close game vs the two way huckfest we had in the 1st half.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
Good win on a b2b but they really blew it in the 3rd

Offensive rebounding a major problem - they took 21 more shots than us!

Tatum was a beast though, VC for me

Team cuz I can’t decide. Nesmith is a jerk, lol, and I don’t think I need to play them again this year.

It is nice beating a quality team at any time of the year.. But if you're being truly honest with yourself you have to say there are many concerns that continually do not go away..

Tonight those concerns showed its face again..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Nice win on a tough B2B. JT smokes it, Derrick gets a puff.

JT with the VC.

It was close, but JB over White for CP.

JB had zero turnovers in this game and 25 points.

White and Jaylen were really good, but that was as point Tatum a game as we played all year, and he ran it beautifully. 30/7/7 on 19 shots with 2 blocks, only 2 TO.

Nesmith pissed me off lol, but I love him. 26/12/7 with 0 turnovers, and some awful defense.

Indy is an annoying team. Never goes away because they’re so explosive offensively and pretty much have 10 guys who can hit shots.

Held on after playing last night. Third quarter was ugly but **** happens.

Good to see White kick on from the fourth quarter last night and Tatum strong again.

This game should not have been as close as it was, since Boston had a 20 point lead and Haliburton was on a 22 minute restriction. Oh well, plenty of reasons to make a Celtics fan heart beat in the second half. Thanks to Tatum (2 great blocks, 30 pts. 7 boards, 7 assists), Holiday (17 pts. on 8 shots, 3 blocks), White (15 point Q1 and overall nice game) and even Queta.

An alternative view:

Pts + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed Field Goals - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+32 Jayson Tatum 39 minutes
+27.5 Jaylen Brown 36 minutes
+23.5 Jrue Holiday 39 minutes
+21 Derrick White 35 minutes

+12.5 Kristaps Porzingis 24 minutes
+7 Sam Hauser 23 minutes

+4.5 Payton Pritchard 16 minutes
+4 Neemias Queta 14 minutes
+0.5 Oshae Brissett 6 minutes

Team Total = 132

The Jays and White were excellent. Jrue played damn well overall. Hauser was good on offense. Porzingis was pitiful for the most part. Pritchard and Brissett were forgettable. Queta and Mazzulla made my head hurt.

The Pacers considering they play at a million miles an hour are just about the worst team you can face on the second night of a back to back and it still took an outlier rebounding night to keep them in the game. Keep stacking those wins.

Can't say the Cs didn't give the ball to KP in the clutch.

Under a minute remaining, KP got the ball and lost the ball because he didn't see Hield coming from behind.

Celts have 3 months to become more cohesive.

Celtics played poorly the last 4 minutes except for a few blocks (Tatum (2), White, Holiday) and Rebounds (especially Tatum).
