Toppin cannot be traded until after the season is over due to trade restriction.

Off the way that he is playing, you have every reason to accept him as being legit. I was a skeptic of the signing but you can't argue with results (unless one is a complete idiot).

He's playing like a third star. He's playing as well as any of the suspects we're supposed to attempt to trade for.

Burks contract just doesn't fit.

You either have to make a bigger trade with Fournier in it. Or a smaller trade with Precious on it.

Knicks are not trading Fournier for an expiring they have operated that they want to trade for a star and they NEED that Fournier contract or whoever they trade him for to be added salary in the next trade.

And they be stupid to trade precious for Burks.

The Burks contract just doesn't make sense because we can't fit it in to our plans.

i know but there's multiple reports they're interested in him. it might be that randle is gonna have to be the contract going out instead.

are the knicks gonna have 4 near max contracts on their books anyway ? if the new star is on a max. and og is on a near max. and brunson a year from now is on a max. can they afford to keep julius on a new deal at something that approaches a max a year from now ? don't seem likely.

They might be interested in him but unfortunately the numbers don't add up. They have been interested in a lot of guys. It could just be being put out out there to try lower the cost of someone they want.

They aren't going to risk losing forunier contract for a non needle mover in Burks. Especially since Burks doesn't materially improve us over what we have right now.

Donte has been a gigantic surprise to me. I questioned the signing because I thought it'd create a logjam and I wanted a SF/PF backup but I was completely wrong. He is just very very good.

This is very very nice. I actually feel that if OG comes back quick and stays healthy, we will get into 55 win territory. Really the remaining schedule is not that tough and we are just very good. However I do feel like the difference between 2nd place and 6th place in the east is marginal. Any team you face in the playoffs is going to be very very tough.

Like is there really any dropoff between: Cleveland, Indy, Miami and Orlando? All present unique challenges and will be hard to beat. I'm not looking at any of those teams and thinking: "Yeah give me that team. This is going to be easy."

Thus the seeding really matters only in terms of HCA----our opponents will all be tough.

It's a new day, YES it is!

It's Wednesday morning on the East Coast. Another day for Buzz to spread the message of despair and bad news to all the faithful. Stay with us, and you'll be applauding his posts before long. Guaranteed!

For some reason I thought he was like 25

Donte just turned 27 actually, not 28. So yeah just hitting his prime, and seems like he has some more potential to unlock the way he’s going.

Im super curious if we make any trade deadline moves now. The Randle injury shouldn’t change our plans too much. We still need to turn Fournier’s contract into something unless we actually pick up his option. We dont want to ruin the chemistry though, and no game changers are available so I think we will only make a small bench move (Brogdon being the biggest name) or nothing at all. Could just go to the buyout market.

Leon deserves his flowers. Second offseason in a row he had the best FA signing with Klay, er, DiVincenzo.

right now, Brunson would probably beat the 2017 Warriors by 30 with Charlie Brown, Windler, Archi and Jacob Toppin

I guess we still need a bench scorer to become a real contender.

Sigh, Windler, the one that got away

That's 4 guards and a PF/C type.

Dinosaur Thibs plays a lot of 3 and 4 guard lineups.

I mean, it helps that the FO hasn't supplied nearly any backup wings with size but still

Ball movement overcomes size, i.e. Speed Kills

Plus, our smaller guys have physically imposed their will on bigger teams. That a mindset

Donte is an excellent player. The way he plays is sustainable, because all of his bag is predicated on actions he has honed to a level of precision. You can't have a jumper like that without endless reps. He already knows what to do in pretty much any situation and he has no hesitation so he ends up in the right place at the right time ready to pull the trigger. The talent is there, but a lot of it comes down to solid fundamentals. He has legit hoops IQ.

Prior to the OG trade..we were pretty much .500 addition by subtraction eliminating the Barrett Randle duo..ther was never going to work clearly

The biggest problem was that we had 3 weak defenders in the line-up and you really can't make up for that. Right now we have a rotation of like 1 weak defender and 7-8 good defenders. With Randle we have two weak defenders and like 6-7 good defenders. It makes a huge difference. Brunson has elite offensive ability so all his deficiencies on defense are not that significant. And Randle, if you discount his first 6 games where he was recovering from the ankle surgery, shot like 51% over the following 30+ games along with 80% from FT while getting to the line a lot.....so he has been very efficient as well. So two very efficient offensive players, with a bunch of energetic defenders along with very good 3 point shooting and yes....this team will be hard to beat.

I actually feel like if we can get Mitch and Randle back healthy we can beat anybody in the league. Sure, a couple teams will still be favored to beat us, but the margin will be so narrow that a close game here and there, one of their star players not being on top of their game or plain injuries, could easily swing the balance in our favor. We just need to get everybody healthy.

Last time we played the Jazz on Dec 13, he who shall not be named was 3-16 and 0-7 from three and we loss by 4pts. That trade is looking good even when OG is not playing
