Remember the last time we had the first pick of the day?

(not) Good times.

This is awesome news for having the #31st pick. A night of receiving calls to pick whomever people think dropped most in the 1st round.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Step 1 to the NBA adding more rounds.

I bet in the next 3 to 5ish years, we have a 3 (or more) round draft with the G-League focus getting bigger and bigger.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Now we just need to win the lottery so we can kickstart both days

Maybe now MVPs won't be selected during Taco Bell commercials.

3 months ago it seemed like this event wouldn't matter to us. Now we're right in the thick of things with potentially 4 picks.

I don't hate this. Are we sure this is an NBA announcement?

If we win the lottery, OKC gets the best record, and we can get the 60th pick, we can start and end both days.

This is great news because it gives Masai & Bobby time to scroll through this forum and make a more educated pick based on our comments.

Not a fan. The time constraints make it more interesting and dynamic.

They should have a bunch of cots in the green room and if anyone gets passed over in attendance, they can come on down to spend the night. Save on an extra night of accommodation now that you won't be getting 1st round money.

day 1 is at barclay center
but day 2 is at newyork espn studios.

1st round 5 minute between picks
2nd round is now 4 minutes between picks (up from 2 minutes)

21 minute commute apparently. Maybe they could provide a shuttle bus in the morning.

Our pick at #31 can save some money.

This change is all about the two way contracts.

Many teams in last few drafts want to use their two way slots on second round picks.

A lot of guys in second round aren’t agreeable. It’s why Trace Jackson-Davis fell to 57. Everyone wanted to give him a two way and warriors gave him a guaranteed contract.

This change will allow teams more time to figure out who is willing to take a 2 way

do the players have much of a choice though?

If you get drafted in the 2nd round and a team doesn't want to give you a guaranteed contract, what can the player do about it?

The team is required to extend a minimum contract qualifying offer

The player could sign it

That could have roster or tax implications for a team
