Pelicans trade CJ McCollum, Cody Zeller, 24' FRP Top 8 Protected for Tyler Herro, Thomas Bryant, Kevin Love
Miami trade Tyler Herro, Thomas Bryant, Kevin Love, 26' SRP via Lakers for CJ McCollum, Torrey Craig, 24' Pels FRP
Bulls trade Torrey Craig for 26' SRP, Cody Zeller

Pelicans get a younger SG to fit better with their timeline than McCollum. They have an additional FRPs in the following draft from Lakers.
Heat get a more experienced scorer who would be more trustworthy in the playoffs. Craig is a replacement PF for the two bigs they trade away.
Bulls fetch an SRP out of Craig.

A big yawn from the Bulls not interested in helping other teams move starters

Re: Miami Pels Bulls - McCollum to Heat, Herro to Pelicans
I don't think the Pels would trade CJ for Tyler. CJ has been the better player this season (with incredible offense and engaged defense), is a consummate professional, and the Pels really value his leadership in trying to guide our somewhat immature big 2.
Giving up a 1st for a player with similar on court weaknesses (defense) who also lacks the off-court positives just because he is younger does not make sense for where we are in the team building process.

If the Heat deal Herro, it would be for a player that isn't in the same mold as him and Terry. This doesn't really do anything for Miami except make them older and more injury prone
investigate Adam Silver

I have CJ worth quite a bit more than Herro. I think the pick needs to be going the other way.

You may argue that CJ is an upgrade over Herro, but it's the archetype that's the problem. We need a power player next to Bam, not to trade Herro for... Checks notes...older Herro...
We'd be much smarter to reroute CJ and the FRP for a big who fits next to Bam.

He'd be okay as part of a deal but I don't know that he gets Herro.ADMVP wrote:BBallFreak wrote:Precisely.HornetJail wrote:If the Heat deal Herro, it would be for a player that isn't in the same mold as him and Terry. We don't need Herro, but maybe could take a center back from a 3rd team (Jarret Allen?). We'd also keep CJ.
