I know, Pat Riley is prone to fumble a star sitting right there in his hands but maybe this is the time he finally gets it done and isn’t being a stingy/stubborn old bastard!
Cavs gonna hold that superman over Mitchell head

I was glad to find out today the Cavs can’t give him the supermax; only the team that drafted you can offer you a supermax. Didn’t know that was a thing

Bams 1st 2 seasons of his career he was off the bench shooting 5 shots a game.

Bam in 5 seasons as a starter 19-10-4 (and climbing)

Bosh in Miami 18-7-2

Context matters, but context kicks a lot of yalls ass majority of the time

The NBA was a different place 10 years ago. Bosh revolutionised the stretch 5 role, there wasn’t really anyone else doing it to that degree. Totally changed his game to accommodate 2 of the best players of all time, and we won 2 chips as a result.

Offense reigns in this era of the NBA where no one plays defense. Most games were still in the 80-100 bracket for total points. Not like today where teams are dropping 120-130+ a night without OT.

Bosh in this era would be putting up gaudy stat lines. That’s not a slight on Bam, who has been terrific and will be one of the best bigs the Heat have ever had. But it’s ok to say he’s a step behind CB at the moment, Bam hasn’t even reached his prime yet.

Looks like we’ll have plenty of competition for KO but the article also makes it sound like the Jazz will look to trade him for actual players they can use instead of just run of the mill expiring and picks. This is where someone like Duncan can come into play for them as they kick the can with another tradeable contract down the road and also fill a need at SF.

Thomas Bryant
Duncan Robinson

To Jazz for

Kelly Olynyk

This move gets us clean out of the tax and makes us major players in the buyout market.

What else will Miami be throwing in to get a decent player on an expiring contract while Utah takes on much more money this year and long-term money on multiple players they probably don't need?

I'll toss in the LAL 2026 2nd rd pick. I mean they are getting the player who's supposed to be starting over Herro here in Duncan Robinson.

Not at all, if a player is traded on his rookie contract, he can still get the supermax from his new team. If Haliburton doesn't get to 65 games this year, and get an award he won't be supermaxed and could lose 50+ million on his contract.

I heard from ChatSports that there is a rumor that the Heat is interested in trading for Kuzma.
Really???
Trading for a guy that doesn't play defense, why not just play Jovic?

Oh ok so that’s another wrinkle to it then I wasn’t aware of; still looks like Mitchell can’t receive one

Its a shame really, because Duncan & Caleb money wise works, Miami saves an additional $1.5M this year, and Oneal whom comes off the contract next year gives Miami an additional $9.5M in savings which will help use for Mid Level or another minimum contract, 2way etc.

That’s the thing though, he’s only a step behind in shooting. Hes a better defender and rebounder, hes the more efficient scorer (and that’s with the gravity and easy looks Wade and LeBron were getting Bosh) and scores more. I know pace matters for overall scoring but we’re one of the slowest teams in the league ourselves, if we played fast Bam would have better numbers as well.

Love Bosh but the shooting doesn’t outweigh everything else for me. I thought Bam passed him up last year but then the playoff run and him being our best player in the finals solidified it for me

Going to depend how bad Micky wants out of the tax, throw in Jovic and a 2nd and see if that brings any interest.

Those more familiar with our pick situation, if we sent a 1st for DFS and Oneale what’s our situation like? I know we have 2024 that can be traded after we use the pick, so we could potentially pick for another team and send it if needed but after this season we would also unlock like the 2031 or 2032 1st pick right? (Good lord it’s crazy I’m typing out 2032 as an upcoming draft pick)

Then we’d still have picks every other year or whatever too that we would use ourselves

Rockets were rumored to be throwing out a good amount of picks to get him and were turned down.

From RealGm!
The Houston Rockets have expressed a tremendous amount of interest in trading for Mikal Bridges, sources tell The Athletic. The Rockets have made an offer of multiple first round picks to the Brooklyn Nets for Bridges in recent weeks.

The Nets have zero interest in trading Bridges, who is part of their core moving forward.

Unfortunately he isn’t but I agree, would love to get him here and it would help with recruiting Mitchell too.

This is a wild stance imo on a 27 year old who is likely never going to be an all star and should probably be your 4th, maybe 3rd best player on a championship team

Curious to know what Hou actually offered and if they put Green in the deal.
