Everyone knows that ATL wants to dump Dejounte Murray and reset this summer around Trae and Jalen Johnson. The Knicks have been rumored to be interested in Jordan Clarkson and/or Olynyk. So:
ATL:
Out- Murray, AJ Griffin,
In- Fournier (expiring), Grimes, 2 UTA FRPs
NYK:
Out- Grimes, Fournier, 2 second rd picks
In- Clarkson
UTA:
Out- Clarkson, 2 FRPs
In- Murray, AJ Griffin, 2 NY seconds
An optional additional piece to the above is if the Knicks also want Olynyk, in which case they would have to give up Hartenstein for Olynyk (and maybe Yurtseven and/or Samanic for frontcourt depth).
Why?
ATL gets off of Murray for the desired asking price, and gets to see if Grimes could run with Trae before making decisions this summer with additional picks and a lot more cap space to work with.
NYK get their secondary ball handler/playmaker/scorer in Clarkson, whose contract dips to a little over $14M the next two years so as to not kill their future cap. If they also want Olynyk, such as due to frontcourt health concerns, they lose Hartenstein, but probably couldn't resign him over the summer.
UTA gets younger and sees if Murray can be their PGOTF.

Re: ATL/NYK/UTA
Just bc Murray doesn’t fit the best with Trae does not mean hawks want to dump his contract. Hawks value him higher than that and I’m going to need to know which two picks because if you’re talking about two low ceiling picks it’s an easy no for Atlanta.

Why wouldn't the Knicks just cut the Jazz out and get the better player. We have picks to spare so there is no reason to settle for Clarkson.
Why rely on nuance, facts and logic when you can bludgeon the other side with mindless repetition of "Duuur McDaniel's has potential
and still be treated as if you were reasonable.

I don't really think that 'dumping' Murray is an accurate description of the Hawk's motives at this point. Being willing to trade him, yes, but not eager to just get rid of him.
Of course the value here is all in the 2 Utah picks (Grimes and Griffin roughly cancel), so some details would be necessary though expectations would be for Utah to be a solidly over .500 team.

You potentially could, but ATL might prefer the Jazz picks over your picks as they are heavily protected or will be in the bottom third of the first round. Also, Clarkson has two years and $29M, whereas Murray has 4 yrs and $114 (plus $15M), so Murray would have to be that last star that the Knicks get to finish this team.

Just a personal preference, but I'd prefer to see exactly which FRPs you have in mind to be moved. If it's the Hawks choice (like the best two of CLE, MIN, and UTA in 2025, all unprotected) then it's a clear no for the Jazz.
"When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world...
... NO, YOU MOVE."
... NO, YOU MOVE."

@ Balls4Life and Gibberish-
I think the water has gone under the bridge on Murray staying with the Hawks, it just hasn't worked out and now the divorce has been made public.
However, fair question as to which picks.
Jazz have their own as well as CLE and MIN picks for the next several years. The only other offer I've read about is the Lakers offering Russel (who the Hawks don't want), Jalen Hood Shafino, "a 2029 pick" (unsure of protections) and a pick swap for Murray. If this is the best offer, I believe that two lightly protected picks (e.g. 1-8) and Grimes and an expiring easily trumps this offer.

Woj did say he expects hawks to get better offers as we get closer to the deadline but who knows exactly what’s getting offered. Since he’s locked up I got no problem keeping him past the deadline if the offers werent good enough. But hawks are just in so many rumors every year sigh it’s really frustrating. I really have no clue which ones to believe.

Wrong on all accounts. Only 2 of the Knicks picks are heavily protected. Even then the Knicks could send the Dallas pick this year (currently sitting at 17) their pick next year plus the Washington pick (hypothetically). Even if the Washington pick never turns into a first rounder it should still turn into 2 decent 2nd rounders. Furthermore, the quality of those Jazz picks would be diminished by adding Murray. The Jazz have already exceeded expectations and replacing Clarkson with Murray makes them a better team.
And Murray, as long as he stays productive, could just as easily be included in a package for that star player or flipped to another team for picks to send for that star player. Absolutely no reason to settle for Clarkson in this deal.
