Love this energy! RIOT

It feels like there's a media blitz on Paolo right now. Maybe they know he's an all-star reserve and they're trying to boost him up? Maybe just coincidence (like the JJ Redick podcast timing)

Payton gave us some good years. He just wasn’t as consistent after his knee tendinitis, but before that he was very good at attacking the paint, and he was an excellent passer. Defensively, he struggled to navigate screens.
Remember when Kobe elbowed Jameer in the chin so hard Jameer was knocked down and sent skidding across the floor?

Henny had eye for talent but ownership wasn't on the same page. They pushed him to do bad trades.

Also henni didn't get that vets were important. Trading meer was a HUGE mistake, this was the beginning of the end

Great. it's almost like he plays 14 mpg once a week, and is only capable of playing one side of the floor . Oh, that's execlly a case

There is so much overreaction about what he does that it's hilarious.

If he plays even close to what normal nba player is playing and has to care about stuff normal nba players care about ( fatigue, cumulative fatigue, foul troubles, offense etc) his impact would be much lower. But he has nothing to worry about, knowing if he plays 100% for all 4 min, he will get week off to recover.

Harris is a solid player. I'd kind of like to see him replace Cole in the rotation because he's able to hold his own on switches.

He may be able to take some minutes from Cole but not the minutes Cole is key to the play making.

The problem is, you are right, but also wrong.

He does do as good as promised when he is out there.

He would likely not have this level of efficiency if teams actually knew he was going to play 20 minutes game in game out.

i dont even need to listen to this. Hennigan got taken by Philly for the extra draft capital needed to get Payton and then Payton's play is what forced him out of Orlando, to the bench on other teams and then out of the league at 27 (his prime athletically).

Doesn't surprise me really. The offense goes through them for lack of a PG most games. Which allows both of them to play to their strengths. I know we talk about the need for a floor general, and I agree with the idea of a Veteran PG to help spread the floor and initiate a couple plays.

Franz + Paolo are amazing in efficiency. Even though we demand an insane amount of perfection every time we see either turn the ball over.

Edit : I think their % or placement on the list would be higher if we could surrender them with uninjured shooters on the regular.

He was really good at finding supplemental pieces and diamonds in the rough. Guys like Harris and Fournier would be great 3-4 options on a title contender. But he never could find the star either because of bad luck (one pick away from Embiid and Porzingas), or failing to appreciate talent that should be drafted higher (Booker, Giannis). He is an ideal second fiddle to someone like Presti.

We gave up Šarić, returned 76ers 2017 pick and second round pick ( turned into Holmes) to get him.

This was a fun listen, thanks for sharing. Man, I’ll always have a soft spot for Elf. I hope he figures it out and makes a return like Exum has managed. Crazy how his life took such a turn and he made Team USA juniors just because he had a passport ready to go.
