To win outright or to be around the top five?

He's a great story but I'm not sure how he elevates above Jokic, SGA and Giannis.

If they stay on this course he should have a chance to win it, for a guy who's 6ft, it's quite AMAZING, what he's doing.

The Knicks are certainly hot right now. They still have a worse record than OKC, Denver and Milwaukee though, and it's not like those teams are going to fall away.

What is Brunson's narrative other than being an underdog and likeable?

I don’t see Brunson winning mvp. He’ll never be above SGA and that’s a similar storyline to his

Nah. Brunson is having a fantastic year, yes, but the MVP list at this point in the season is (and should be) a very short one. Brunson is in the Mitchell/Fox/Booker tier. He's a no doubt All Star and that's deserving recognition.

jokic dont give a **** about mvp, last year he coasted all last month and lost it to embiid because of that

jokic wants another ring

is for that SGA will win it

(Not what I think is necessarily fair!)

1. Jokic: He does not care and will probably still will the MVP if the Nuggets get at least the 3 seed
in the west and he keeps up his current stats.
2. SGA: If the Thunder manage to be at least 2 seeds better than the Nugget or will be the 1 seed in the west,
SGA will have a real shot at the MVP.
3. Luka and the Mavs will have to get at least to the 4th seed in the west for him to win,
which seems pretty unlikely with the emergence of the Clippers.
4. Giannis and the Bucks either need to get the 1 seed or the 2 seed in the east
with Giannis also going nuclear stats-wise.

Jokic will probably have to care because 1-4 in the West are pretty close. Last year, Nuggets basically secured 1st seed early, with a win over MEM on March 3rd.

Why do you think that SGA would need to be 2 seeds better?

SGA only needs to be one seed better (asuming top 3 and +52 wins at least), and okc is 3-1 vs denver

if okc is first seed in west, is over

The odds speak against this, buddy.

Right now, the Thunder ARE 2 seeds in front of the Nuggets and Jokic is still in front of SGA on all major betting sites.
Again, this is not my personal opinion. This is just what probably will happen.
I get that you wat your boy SGA to wn the trophy, but you're not realistic about this.

He will either need a big difference in seeding/wins OR push his stats even more while maintaining his stats.
That is how voters do this.

MVP Tracker has Jokic as the clear favorite, and that is despite Embiid still being seen as in the mix. Once Embiid officially fails to meet the criterium, the probability will only be more favorable to Jokic than they already are. There is no Jokic vs SGA. It is Jokic vs Jokic, he can only lose to himself.

past year jokic was the mvp till mid march, till he coasted last rs month

he will do it again

so SGA will be mvp for sure with

okc #1 seed west

we can have a debate if

okc is 2 or 3 and ahead of nuggs.

is nuggs finish ahead okc, jokic gets his 3rd, even coasting

Seems like all your arguments come from wishful thinking that SGA will win this award.
I get it, you're a fan, you want him to win.

Since the race is really tight in the west, it does not seem smart to predict that he will coast.
There are so many things that can happen until the end of the season.

Are you for real? I love debating with people, but you seem just unaware of anything that is outside of your favorite team/player.

As I said, record will matter in the sense of distance between the teams. Is this the first MVP-race you're witnessing?

This is not the right place for you, play somewhere else. After your logic (things repeat themselves) Joker will coast again and the Thunder will drop again to 10th place like last year?

Tough break for Embiid. Dude was on a tear.
