Miami trades Herro, Jovic
Memphis trades Smart/Aldama
On paper Jovic is the better player.
Miami gets a tough nosed defender who is in the mold of Butler.
Grizzlies get a shooter to play next to Morant next year.

Miami Playoff Push Miami/Memphis
When you look for the bad in something, expecting to find it, you certainly will.

They have Bane. Why are they trading for Herro?Hoppy1 wrote:Miami trades Herro, Jovic

Smart is our packup PG and Ja insurance and big enough to play a lot at SF. He offers us a lot of flexibility and the POA defender we need due to Ja deficiencies. Herro would be locked in as Bane's backup and doesn't really have the PG skills to cover for Ja. This makes no sense for Memphis at all.

Wow, that’s bad for Memphis.

Correct, and as much as it makes sense for Miami, it really doesn't. We need a compliment to Bam far more than we need wing depth when we have Rozier, Richardson, Robinson, Martin, Butler, Jaquez, and Highsmith, and that's excluding Herro. That's a lot of depth when our frontcourt is essentially Bam and Love (with Jovic traded).psman2 wrote:Smart is our packup PG and Ja insurance and big enough to play a lot at SF. I don't see it for either team but especially not for Memphis.

Asking for Aldama back is a nice shot..
I think you need a third team, but most (all?) teams would prefer Smart over Herro IMO. So it’s pretty tough to fix.
