Deandre Hunter is now my #1 target.
What’s the cost?

Neutral trade value. Hardest part is piecing together salary that you feel good about.

Is this the same Deandre Hunter who is habitually hurt and plays an average of 46 games a year? That guy?

Really really solid 3 and D guy when healthy…but yeah, that’s been the issue. If the price is right I say go for it, but it’s definitely a risk. Wouldn’t give up much of value with him.

I could probably talk myself into Delon+Deni for Portis+Pat+Payne and then sign Gabriel

Kind of assumed. Marjon is still young enough to be considered an asset and not someone you hold from a trade. Kind of funny how even a month ago some on this board thought he was not available.

Not saying anything groundbreaking, Marjon is probably the most valuable asset on a team where the only other assets are Portland's 2nd rounder and AJJ. He's not untouchable, other guys teams would want would be rotation pieces. It would be nice if Doc could make it work with Marjon & AJJ, IDK if they have it but we have 2 young guys right now that fit the archetype so at least let them fail at it.

Yeah. Negative 1.7 VORP over the last 2 1/2 seasons. Atlanta would pay to get out of his contract. They tried to attach him in other deals and lowered their asking price, but no one bit.
We can't make the money work for both him and Murry without sending out core guys, and that's not happening.
I could see a deal where we take on Hunter while getting Caruso. We'd need to send out Bobby, Pat, and 3 more to make that work.

Think Nehm has the deals, and one of these happens:
MarJon and Portland 2nd for Kris Dunn
Bobby, Pat, MarJon and picks for Dejounte Murray
Bobby for Grant Williams
Delon Wright for Pat C.
I really like the Kris Dunn and Grant Williams TI’s. Add those two guys, and suddenly we have a defensive identity.
Predict the Dunn one is the deal, but we also give up the 2027 2nd as well.

I’d do the Dunn and Williams deals and let’s roll.

Would you rather make the big splashy trade for Dejounte or make all the other individual deals to help reshape the roster?
I think I like the idea of Bobby for Grant W, Pat for Delon Wright and Marjon and the 2027 2nd for Dunn. Restructures our entire defensive identity and doesn’t disrupt spacing and shooting in the offense.
Not sure who you’d start between Dunn or Wright but either or is fine and being able to sub 1 for the other or even play both together is a huge advantage to the 2nd unit we just simply don’t have. I’d much rather go this route than blow all our remaining assets on Murray.
Bobby and Livingston for Grant Williams
Pat for Delon Wright
Marjon and 2027 2nd for Kris Dunn
They all work individually on fanspo… seems crazy but plausible
