OKC - Phoenix - Charlotte

Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Sun Feb 4, 2024 2:53 am

OKC trade: Bertans, Micic, Poku, 2024 OKC/LAC 1st
OKC receive: Hayward, Richards, Watanabe

Charlotte trade: Hayward, Richards, Bridges
Charlotte receive: Little, Bertans, Poku, Micic, 2024 PHX 1st

Phoenix trade: Little, Watanabe, 2024 pick swap
Phoenix receive: Bridges, 2024 OKC/LAC 1st

Why for Phoenix: get the guy rumored to want
Why for Charlotte: eat some salaries to get a 1st
Why for OKC: load up for playoff run

Add 2nds as needed

Alternative version is PJ for bertans/2024 OKC/LAC 1st but im not sure charlotte want to give up on PJ

Dont think Suns have a 1rst that they can trade.
They do have a couple of seconds available

well it's something I guess

If the Hornets don't believe they can (or don't want to) retain Bridges then this isn't the worst thing in the world.

I think the better course of action is just taking the OKC part and choosing not to donate to the Suns

Moving up from 27 to ~20 is worth another late 1st or so

I'm expecting the Suns to move up in the standings, so really just seeing this as the 23rd-24th pick. The difference is fairly negligible. Like I said, if Bridges has both feet out the door then yeah i'll take the higher pick.

Why are Thunder giving a first in this swap?

How does Phoenix turn two non contributors into a very useful player and only move down a few spots in the late first round as compensation? I have them stealing value here from OKC and to a lesser extent Charlotte.

It's fair value, but if CHA doesnt' value the 7 spots jump, PHX and Bridges/Poku can be cut very easily from the deal.

I would do this if the money worked without Micic, but it doesn’t.

Also this is like plan X. But I don’t hate Hayward on the team and Richards as a situational large person.

I think this is fine. I'd do it. Nice mix of teams getting things they want, but curious of CHA not getting the OKC pick which the Thunder are sending
Cheers
