Re: Ayo Dosunmu has leveled up
I'm psyched by Ayo's increase in minutes and his good level of play. Like most folks here, I don't necessarily think he'll be a starter for a contending team but he and his contract would be valuable additions to a contender and I'd like to see him build value. If the Bulls somehow could become that contender within a year or two it'd be great to have Ayo as part of that, but my guess is that he'll be best for the team as a future trade asset.

Re: Ayo Dosunmu has leveled up
Those look like starter numbers to me. If he can get his 3pt rate up to 40%, he and Coby will make a killer back court. Defense, speed, drives to the basket, 3pt scoring. What’s not to like? Ayo’s a good rebounder, too.

What do you mean they look like? They literally ARE starter numbers my friend.jump wrote:Those look like starter numbers to me. His contract is also looking pretty good now. 2 more years at 7m each?

You are correct, Sir. I said that for those who still see him as a bench player.

Ayo is very comparable to Bruce Brown.

I'm thinking Barbosa on offense. Ayo is a blur in the open court.

His contract looked great the day he signed it. We have Coby and Ayo on the types of deals that will help you rebuild a roster more quickly if you have the balls to move the vets. Which we don’t. But it’s still true.

Really hate our FO, smh. Being a Cards fan and watching them just be mediocre to get fans in the seats and watching the Bulls do the same crap. Get aging but good vets, not have a real plan to develop a team, etc... - stale as Jimmy John's day old bread on day 4.

I don't see them as the same type of player. Brown is more comparable to Caruso. Also, JanuAyo is too little time to be extrapolating from.

All the good things Ayo had been doing this past month were all seen in flashes since he was drafted. So to me, it’s not surprising he’s getting better in all facets of his game. I think he’s not even close to a finished product.

Bruce Brown is more in the mold of a better Javonte Green, a smallball SF/PF who can kinda shoot but not really.

I'd probably classify Ayo as that too. I know he's been on a tear offensively lately, but I've also seen those cold stretches and goose eggs Snelly games that I can't say for sure that this wasn't a flash in a pan.
But I'll say this - we've had a few young players who had this type of hot shooting month (March Niko, FebruLauri, Coby), and they all ended up getting more consistent as their game matured. So the fact that Ayo is showing it for a longer stretch like this at all is encouraging.

Nah Bruce Brown has guard skills as well. Part of the reason he left the Nets was because so could play the 2.

At this stage in his career? Point taken either way. Ayo needs to keep improving.

Re: Ayo Dosunmu has leveled up
Ayo’s 3 ball looks money and is money.
He’s shooting a lot more and making even more.
Up to 39.8% on 3.2 per game.
I think he will get over 40% and up to 4 per game.
