They’ll trade them if we put Herro on the block. They wanted LaVine for that package.

Herro and Martin for Bogi, Burks, and Sasser might not be the worst idea tbh.

Is it just me or are these trade values that FOs are looking for getting beyond ridiculous and outrageous? I feel like any trade I see the convo starts with like half the team for some middling dude.

This is why all the talk was funny to me in the 2022 ECF when we struggled to score or last years playoff run when we struggled and Herro fans would come out of the woodworks saying how bad we needed him because the team can’t score without him. He doesn’t help

A whole lot more without than with, in fact that 87 game was one when he was trying to play "off ball" and shoot 3s like so many on here wanted and we had essentially the same number of creators as when he doesn't play  . We saw how that turned out.

It's almost like some Heat fans don't understand how points are actually generated.

Might as well get Morris while we’re at it lol.

Rozier/Morris/Sasser
Duncan/Burks/Jrich
Jimmy/JJJ/Cain
Bogi/Highsmith/BULK
Bam/Love/Bryant

Need to free up a spot for JRich

That’s why trading for Rozier was a no brainer for Lowry cause of the price and saving 15 million while doing it. We’ll get Rozier right. He’s making positive contributions

It won’t work money wise unless you swap out Morris for Burks. Sasser was sought after by us during draft time. I’d rather have the Burks/Sasser combo over Morris. Bogi and Duncan would spread the floor like the ocean for Bam and Butler lol

He’s talking to the Knicks not too us. The relationship strain with Knicks is no where near what happened between Riley and Paul. I believe the Knicks are in talks about trading for Brogdon and apparently there was a little bit of an agent rivalry going on between the two that there trying to look past. Lebron is not coming here

I'm not a LeBron fan although I do understand he's probably the 2nd best NBA player of all time. It just seems a little odd for a report of Riley in California during the season without the team there (although its been mentioned he has a place out there) and now the meeting with Leon Rose. May not mean anything but it could possibly be 2 data points at an interesting time knowing the history of the parties.

I watch this guy destroy the Heat defense in playoff atmosphere multiple times. His contract is nice and I think is obtainable.

Why would the Hawks trade him here? Makes no sense for them to do that with our limited draft capital and they don’t need Herro either.

Riley is in LA plenty so hard to draw any conclusions on that. And what does Klutch meeting with Leon have to do with us? Knicks hate us just as much

I'd probably do it just because I'm SO done with Herro, and I like all of Bogi Sasser and Burks.

BUT, getting a main piece in Bojan who is 35YO is..not good long term.

We need in prime Jerami Grant in our life, then call up Bouyea and Alondes. Get some **** athleticism in here.

We have 75 Mil$ invested in 3 guards that can't defend in Herro, Duncan and Rozier,
and we 5 Mil$ invest in all our PFs. Jovic low rookie deal, HighSmith minimum, Martin isn't even a real PF.

How TF does this make ANY sense from a roster construction side?

I agree with your overall point but it’s a no for me on the gleaguers. Wait out the buyout market and see who comes up, we need legit nba talent and there are usually quite a few solid players that shake loose.

AirP. wrote:Somewhat true about Tucker but he was signed as an afterthought, he was basically all that was left on the market. Miami's even wasted a pick on Precious with the hope of him being Bam lite as the backup 5 vs addressing the PF position or signing the best player available (Maxie), there was never a thought he would play alongside Bam. It's crazy how little they care about adding a PF that would be considered a starter by just a few teams in the league. Even if you think Spoelstra wants to go with small ball, the FO can put a quality 4 on the roster which would basically force Spoelstra to move a little away from small ball but instead they just refuse to address that issue.

They need to hire someone for the G-League who will develop 7 Footers that can play defense. It feels that the G-League only develops Guards.

Honestly what we need to do is stop being so reliant on G leaguers in general lol enough is enough. You can have a couple but it feels like we roll out several each game, the talent gap is just too big to overcome a lot of the time.

That makes sense, and I agree with your comment. However, Pat has relied on the development of players coming from the G-League for a while.
The Heat has built teams via trade and signing free agents. The problem is that "The Culture" is not for everybody, so some players don't want to come to the Heat. TBH, I think K Duran is a good example.
So, we rely on the draft, but we never pick in the top 5 (we got lucky with Wade and unlucky with Beasley).
Lately, we can't even compete on trades.
So, the G-League and players who want to come to play for "The Culture" are what we have unless there is a significant strategic change. Maybe when Pat retires.

I almost wonder if someone like KO would shake free in the buyout market if no one ends up trying to trade for him.

Could save the Jazz a few million and free up some run for their younger guys while giving KO the opportunity to sign with a contender
