I give credit to KP. In hindsight after the Dallas trade, he admitted he could have did more to be on the same page with Luka. He cited maturity issues between he and Luka. I think he's being diplomatic, though. Most of the issues does still fall on Dallas as a whole.

It's sad because, while I think Jokic got pretty much robbed last year, Embiid was far and away the MVP this year.
Now he won't win it because he won't reach the threshold of games played. At least he'll have won it once, I guess.
Honestly the Sixers should have been much more cautious with him. Plan to have him play 50-55 RS games. No back-to-backs. Just keep him healthy heading into the playoffs.

The Mavs and particularly Cuban were more invested in Luka ball than team ball.
Luka's a generational talent but he was put on a pedestal too early, as he was always encouraged to dominate the ball at the expense of team basketball.
Now, you want Luka to have the ball in his hands but within reason - not to the point where other talented players feel they can't express their talent and subsequently look for better opportunities.

It's funny because the 2 guys who were traded for each other that draft night both have had those exact circumstances play out.
The Hawks have done the exact same thing with Trae.

Re: Around the NBA - Continued… again
It’s weird watching the Mavs trying to recreate the 2009 Cavs team or the 87 bulls cuz they’ve got a generational talent. The one man usage monster has never worked with two of the greatest players of all time. What makes them think that Luka could make it better?
If he was willing to sacrifice just a little bit of usage to let KP, and Brunson thrive they’d probably be the best team in the west. It wouldn’t be the first time mark Cuban has enabled bad behavior and I doubt that the Adelson’s will be any better for him.

John Collins seems like a perfect fit there. Another whiny dude with a big ego.

It be a Greek tragedy for John Collin’s to be sent to Dallas after spending years standing in the corner for Trae, just to be put back in the corner for Luka.

It is actually kind of funny that the Mavs have been taking ex-Knicks on for years, only for the Knicks to end up the better team being led by an ex-Mav.

They made a brilliant heist of Atlanta with that Luka trade then fumbled the bag a bunch of times (KP, Brunson, etc.) thereafter instead of being a championship squad and perennial contender. Just goes to show that it's not the one move (ie getting the "Curry") alone that gets you the title... but the series of good successive moves (ie bringing in Klay and Draymond, etc.)

I actually think the Hawks have to an extent done the opposite recently, by bringing in another ball-handler in Murray as opposed to letting one leave for nothing.

Re: Around the NBA - Continued… again
IDK how it's possibly leverage if Windy (the man so named because he sustains himself on LeBrons farts), and his agency (run by his childhood best friend) are both publicly stating he is not being moved. Why would management have any fears if even the media is calling it all a sham?
It seems legitimately just a troll job for knicks fans and a favor to ESPN to give them things to talk about.

So what you're saying is: That joke of a franchise enabled him to become a no good chuck. Hi Dirk.

Mavs did bring in Kyrie to replace Brunson but you’re right that the hawks didn’t let anyone good leave.
