Jalen Green (+/-) for Mikal Bridges?
Houston looks to take the next step while the Nets embrace a retool and get off the treadmill (per RealGM article)
What are thoughts on value? Maybe Brooklyn gets one or both of their 2024 and 2026 picks back? Bullock or Jeff Green as filler?

1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

whatever you think the total value of Mikal Bridges is, minus like one pick
also don't see the point of Green on BRK with Cam Thomas doing what he's doing

Maybe a 3rd team is needed for a talent BK values more than Green?
How about Green goes to Detroit, Ivey and Rockets picks (Nets picks back) to BK, Bridges to Houston?

I’ve not watched much of Green, but Green plus even one Brooklyn pick (2024) feels like a pretty good deal for BKN.

It wouldn't be a good deal at all. I am not really sure Green is even starting caliber. He's very similar to a player Brooklyn already has (Cam Thomas).

Let's take him out of the equation then and start it around the 2024 pick instead.
The BKN pick is slotted at #8, that's a pretty decent asset. It's also one that has a fair shot at appreciating after being acquired due to the nature of the exchange.
We also have the BKN UNP 2025 swap (projected to go from #29 to #8 based on this season's records). We then have the BKN UNP 2026 1st, a UNP 2027 swap, and then there's Jalen, who should easily net at least a mid-late first from a 3rd team.
How much more is Bridges worth than a projected #8?

Jalen Green to Detroit is totally DOA with all the **** he talked about the city after they passed on him.

Re: Jalen Green (+/-) for Mikal Bridges?
My biggest problem with Green as the center piece is the duplication with Thomas. But Thomas seems like an even better scorer.
I think the deal has to start with Whitmore.

If Brooklyn can get this years pick back, and next years swap rights expunged, that's bought them 2 seasons to right the ship, and I would consider that a win. As far as what else is involved, no idea. I agree Green and Thomas are fairly redundant, but Green seems the "young talent" most likely to be made available...

Probably two more unprotected picks.

Re: Jalen Green (+/-) for Mikal Bridges?
Nets are not a PO team, and they don't own their picks to tank, Bridges is a great 3&D player, but is 3rd option offensively, the only successful team he was part of he was 4th option, and the team had a lot of injury luck, Houston feel they are close and want Bridges and they own BKN future draft capital.
Jalen, next year BKN 1st and the 2 swaps extinguished, is a generous offer IMO, add in 26 1st and I have this as an overpay both team should be willing to do, Brooklyn should say this much faster than Houston does.
Planning on handing out lottery picks for 2025 FA signing to become good is a really risky plan, this is their ticket out of it.
Marks has been adamant on holding out, and he got great value for both Kyrie and Durant, only trade he lost was Harden and that was because Harden wanted out and Simmons was severely injured w/o anyone really knowing, so I can see him being stubborn.

Naa. I say Green plus both picks back, this year's and the 2026 one.
That's a great deal for BRK imo.

Na its not. The Grizzlies was willing to give up 4 unprotected picks for Brigdes. I think the Nets would want all their picks back plus a Cam Whitemore to start. Nets have Cam Thomas so taking Green is redundant, they're both undersized shooting guards, so the Nets will def want Whitemore or Amen

If the Grizzlies want to give up 4 unprotected picks for Bridges, then they should go right ahead and do that. He would be their 4th best player.
I doubt the Rockets are willing to give up all of that for Bridges. The Net’s picks & swaps back plus Landale/Tate/Bullock is enough.

Nets are primed to grab Donovan Mitchell in 2025 offseason.
They should stay the course with Mikal, CamJ, Claxton, O'Neale (Mitchell close friend), Clowney, Whitehead.
They should try get value for DFS and CamT before deadline IMO.

Not a fan of Jalen Green at all.
Him and Cam Thomas are the same age and play the same position yet Thomas has shown much more with much less opportunity.
I don’t think the Nets have any interest in Green.

Woj himself said on yesterday’s pod that the Nets turned down 5 1sts for Bridges.
I’d say Green is worth 1 1st until he proves he’s more than a Jordan Clarkson imitation.

Not all 1sts are created equal. And this is the time of year when about anything and everything gets floated in press.
With that said, to be clear, Nets should not trade Bridges unless some massive overpay.
Nets have all their eggs in 2025 offseason basket. Bridges helps increase 2025 offseason success. But if they can get all own picks back plus, they have to consider it - no guarantee 2025 offseason is a successful one. Actually, odds are against them. And if Mitchell or Markkanen or Ingram extend before 2025, Nets eggs are cracking.

Everything you said is true.
I would consider a package around getting our picks back but I don’t want Jalen Green in any scenario. He should be considered as a worse version of Cam Thomas until something changes.
The good thing is the Nets will get clarity on Mitchell and Markkanen this summer when they have their extension talks. That’s when you reevaluate the current plan.

I don't think Memphis was offering that THIS year as they suck. So you guys are taking about the offer coming last year. BIG DIFFERENCE that you neglected to say. Mikal, while still a good player is not playing anywhere close to as well a he did last year after he got traded.
There's no universe where he solicits the same return of 5 picks plus a legit, young player-who himself was a top 2 pick a cpl years ago.
