Why take a role player that may not even pan out?

Ware or Furphy with that Pacers pick!

Not worried about Williams build. Ingram is slight, Durant is slightly and they've found a way to make it work. Just have to take the most skilled SF available.

How do you accuse me of wanting a role player that might not pan out and then suggest Furphy lol. He's the epitome of a role player and in my opinion has the lower ceiling and lower chance of reaching that ceiling than McCullar. We already drafted a Kansas shooter. Not going to waste another 1st rounder on the same thing.

Ware now...that's a different story. I can completely understand the desire to swing for the fences with him over McCullar. If he pans out, we could be looking at some version of Myles Turner.

Indeed, I am unsure Furphy is a high ceiling prospect, plus we already drafted one.
As for Ware, I am unsure with his positioning and footwork, and he is already 20. I will look more into Ulrich Chomche and see if he is a better prospect at a lower pick.

If he’s successful with college spacing I wonder what he can do with NBA shooters around him.

I think he'll stick around the NBA as a bench guy for a while, but ultimately I think he'll head to the Euroleague and become a star(ting) center there like a few other huge guys - Walter Tavares (7'3), Moustapha Fall (7'3), Yousoupha Fall (7'3), or Marjanovic in the past.

No one knows. I've watched college ball for a long time. Never seen a player quite like this before. There are legitimate questions but in late 1st or early 2nd, it's worth the risk.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

I'd take him with the OKC or DET pick but doubt he last that long

You watch college and the NBA and you notice the difference in physicality. The NCAA allows players to slow down each other threw a bit more bumping and hitting.

A C like Edey will likely be in foul trouble because he is so physically big players will be getting a ton of lower body contact on drive from him and getting the ref's foul call. He is going to be like Boban - a player who looks like can dominate the low post, but cannot really be used in games because he will get targeted.

Despite what I think about his shortcomings, I do think if we keep our picks Toronto will draft him with that Detroit pick. No way we just pass on the most dominant Canadian college prospect three times.

flip side is on defense with all that spacing, ppl will be hunting switches on him

I wonder where mocks would have him @ if it was the 90s/early 2000s

The game has changed a lot since Sampson and Ewing played and he's not as skilled offensively as those guys.

His lack of mobility in the modern game is a huge issue. He'd have a tough time staying on the court defensively against a team that doesn't play a plodding C. He also doesn't have a perimeter game and he'd struggle keeping up with the pace of the game with so many transition opportunities.

As a situational matchup big, I guess he's fine. But I don't see him becoming much more than that.

games always changing. Jokic wasnt supposed to be able to make it work defensively either, but he's solid on that side of the ball. I would take a flyer on Edey with the Detroit 2nd rounder. He probably wont work out in the NBA, but, also, he might. And thats enough for me with how dominant he's looked in college

Love these big wing types that get downhill easily. The defence has been a pleasant surprise and the shot ain't broken either. He's tough. I can see him rising up boards when it's all said and done. Would take him 10 times out of 10 over Matas and a few others projected above him.

If Zach Edey - who was projected to go undrafted in the past 2 drafts before pulling out - being a late first/early second rounder isn't a testament to this draft class being weak, I don't know what is

Lacks mobility, doesn't space the floor and he's on the older side as far as prospects go

Looking at highlights and see that in the right situation he could be an Austin Reaves 2.0.

That reminds me of 2015&2016 drafts

Older 2way wing: Powell
Backup PG: Delon

I would like us to find a way to draft Nikola Topic. He just needs the pull three and I'm all in on PG Manu.

I'm on the Topic train. His highlight reels are halfcourt 1on1 breaking down defense for layups. We need that half court offense and rim pressure

The Serbia connection is a bonus

What spot is Topic is being mocked so far?
