Cedi Poku Ayo rotation [OKC/CHI/SAS]

Post#1 » by Clav » Tue Feb 6, 2024 10:11 pm

OKC out Pokusevski, 24 HOU 2nd (unprot) -> Chicago
+ 25 2nd (BOS/MEM), 25 2nd (ATL - 31-40 prot.) -> San Antonio
OKC receives Cedi Osman

SAS out Osman - OKC
SAS receives Dosunmu, 25 2nd (BOS/MEM) via OKC, 25 2nd (ATL - 31-40 prot.) via OKC

CHI out Ayo Dosunmu -> SAS
CHI receives Pokusevski, 24 HOU 2nd (unprot) via OKC

Chicago gets a nice early 2nd to build on the roster for a PG spot that is crowded. Poku can get another chance, CHI relieves future salary too.

Spurs receive a nice PG to look at on a good contract for them, and receive some 2nds for Osman to help build out the roster

OKC receives a bench shooter that expires for a few assets for a veteran to stabilize the PO push.
Cheers

Maybe spurs can receive 1 second less and it all depends how both team view Ayo as contract.

Does he hold much future value for either ?

I got Osman worth less than Ayo. Ayo has really been coming on lately. I don't think Ayo is worth much, but I have Osman with no trade value whatso ever so I have SA easily cut here since they are really doing nothing here. Just do....CHI receives Pokusevski, 24 HOU 2nd (unprot) via OKC for Ayo if both teams want to do the deal.

And if some reason OKC really wants Osman then the same offer of Pokusevski, 24 HOU 2nd should get in done.

Think OP want to get a big for OKC . Even if Ayo is the better player today or better long term upside.

I was thinking that SAS gets Ayo by sending that HOU 2nd pick to CHI directly instead of using other SAS assets. But yeah... could be other picks for sure

He's had some ups and downs on the Bulls. It would be nice for the Spurs to have a guard who can integrate with defense and some initiation for their team I think, he's 6.4M/ year for 3 years, which is less than Osman now, and is pretty low for 3 years as a backup PG.

Poku 5M expiring RFA this offseason

Cedi 6.7M expiring, so Thunder are actually paying more on the cap for this by taking on +1.7M

Ya, not that Osman is a true big, but he's a hustle guy, he might bring some energy to OKC, turn some possessions in spot duty. I didn't know Osman was valued so low by others though :D

Osman is 6'7" but he plays small. But as I said I cannot imagine he has more than a mid 2nd trade value/expiring so a direct trade is the most logical approach here.

No better way for me to explain it.

Our guys over at OKC part of the forum are getting desperate for some size before the trade deadline.

Once deadline is over we will see your point that Osman is 6’7” and play small but before deadline is over, we are open to anyone biggish in size that might help more in our rotation over the Bertans/Poku/Mann trio all at the cost of seconds and/or late first .

It just crazy that the most asset rich team would have their fans in a frenzy for size that even Osman would even appease them. From the outside he seems like he would be plan z.

Plan A to V seems to be doing nothing .

No way the Bulls even look at this. Ayo can actually start when needed and beyond the stats you're looking at, he hustles and plays genuinely stellar defense. Poku remains a prospect at best, if he shows up in CHI, he's probably behind Julian Phillips at this point. They just extended Ayo do you think they're fools and regret that move already? And the $6-7M they supposedly save if they don't keep Poku is pocket change that then has to be spent finding a Ayo replacement.

OKC has plenty of FRPs in inventory it's going to take at least one to make this happen

Yes, Chi loves Ayo and wouldn't trade him for any reasonable deal.
